"My partner and I visited this brasserie during our week-long vacation in Hastings. We hadn't treated ourselves to a carvery lunch in years because of the noise levels caused by children running around and screaming. I booked a table for 2:00 pm in the hopes that the noise would have died down by then. When we arrived, we were seated in the carvery area where we could have a peaceful conversation. This set the stage for a fantastic carvery experience with excellent food and service. We were impressed with the selection of four roasts available, and we were lucky to try all three available on the mixed plate. My husband had turkey and beef, while I chose lamb and gammon. The portions were generous and delicious. Unfortunately, the cauliflower cheese was already finished when we were served, but we didn't mind as the vegetable dish of carrots, French beans, and savoy cabbage was exactly what we were looking for - all perfectly cooked and not frozen. We also enjoyed a huge Yorkshire pudding and plenty of gravy, accompanied by a nice bottle of Malbec. It was the perfect Sunday lunch experience, and we thank everyone at the restaurant for making it so enjoyable. If we ever visit Hastings on a Sunday again, we will definitely repeat this wonderful experience."
