"This is one of our most visited restaurants in the city centre and it never lets you down. The food is authentic and fantastic and unsurprisingly. This means it gets busy. To that end, I would say a reservation is essential, especially at the weekends. It is a bring your own restaurant, so the fact there is a Sainsbury's. one block away is helpful. the menu is varied and interesting and every dish we've ever had. There has been top-class. On this last visit we had the weeping tiger fillet steak which was delicious and cooked perfectly. The red curry was also excellent as was the duck with noodles. The portions are big, reasonably priced and better than most of the food. We've eaten on our visit to Thailand. Highly recommended"

Such an amazing place. We are excited about the restaurant. Very delicious food for a very affordable price. Ordered Chicken Pad Thai and spicy soup. Wonderful and fast service , nice staff (thanks to all ladies and a guy who worked on 28 October for very warm welcome). We will definitely come back here

Tried to make a booking at 16:40pm through their booking system. Asked them to confirm the booking. Had no reply. Came to the restaurant at our chosen booking time, 18:15pm. Was told there is no booking. Told them what we 'd done. Just told sorry. They 've not checked the bookings from today when they opened! Absolutely terrible customer service. No manager was available apparently to speak to. Giving them 1 out of 5 is too high. Never again!

If I could rate 0/5 then I would. Made an online booking for 6.15 30/09 using their online reservation system only to be turned away at the door. No manager was on duty to discuss the matter or deal with a face to face complaint. I was advised that they don’t have time to look at bookings as they’re busy dealing with customers, yet everyone else sat at a table had a reservation! The food service are generally ok but they really need to sort out their booking structure.

If you are a fan of Thai food and are in Manchester, I would say this place is a must. It isn't easy to find in the heart of Chinatown, but definitely worth making the effort. It isn't licensed, so you can either buy soft drinks in the restaurant or bring your own alcohol or a small charge. There is a Sainsbury's very close by. The weeping tiger steak was fantastic as usual as was the prawn red curry. Thick, a big portion and full of succulent prawns. The restaurant itself is quite small, so it is definitely worth making a reservation. The staff are friendly and efficient, and this really is a great place to enjoy an evening.

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."

"First of all let me say a positive, the only positive- Taylor our server was Brilliant, so polite friendly and excellent at his job ABSOLUTE RIP OFF, they only care about your money this place the food is so vile I couldn't eat much, meat was terrible. I'm a person who like to order at the bar, So I went upto the bar and tried to order to none alcoholic cocktails approx 11.80 on menu, I was told server will bring it over looked at Bill when he did, 13.00 I told him take that service charge off , absolutely disgusting they don't want you to order at bar so they squeeze a few extra pound out of you everytime you order a drink it's not the it's the principle) After meals in next room ,another service charge added on bill of 17, it's a disgrace and leaves a bad taste in my mouth , as if the place isn't expensive enough.. I would of definitely left a 20 tip for Taylor anyway as he was excellent but to be forced to do it in a restaurant that is already ripping you off in a cost of living crisis just shows you what this restaurant is all about. It'd 52 each anyway and you can't eat that much meat as it'd really poor quality and cooked poorly so please don't make the same mistake we made and choose this restaurant to eat. I so nearly walked out after the incident at bar when they tried to add on a service charge by made me think they were being polite and bringing our drinks to us, I really wish I had as I've had better tasting food at McDonald's in Moss Side"
