"Our last evening of dining in Berlin was the restaurant, Pasta e basta , across the street from our hotel. The place was packed all week and is obviously popular. My husband has to be gluten free and I have to watch my carbs. When...we told our server we had questions about the menu and would need some help, she took the menu board off the wall, turned it toward us and walked away. She came to take our order and things got no better. She really didn’t listen to our need for meat and vegetables. She seemed to be in a big hurry to be somewhere else, but obviously not with us. She assured me she could bring me a meal with meat and a small amount of pasta on the plate, at least I thought that was what she was telling me. What I got was a bowl of pasta with a bit of shaved ham on the top. We ate at different restaurants on the same street for several days, including the French restaurant right next door. All were wonderful and took great care with my husband’s gluten allergy. The server at a Spanish restaurant even wrote down every item that was safe for my husband to eat. I know language was a problem because we speak English. I could never tell whether the server and owner( preferred to speak German or Italian. Language differences hadn’t been a big issue during our month in Europe but it was this night. The food we had was good but the lack of courteous service spoiled the evening."

although the service might have been a bit faster, it was pleasant and friendly. eating was delicious and sufficient.

this small place is always full. the atmosphere is based on the owners spirit and the ingredients and preparation makes you feel as if in Italy. warmly recommended!

some of the biggest Italian cuisine we've ever had, the owner was very nice and the food was incredible. if they are in berlin and you demand italian, that is the place!

my family has been in Germany for two days and has been chosen to eat there both days (yes, I know it's crazy.) we fell in love with eating and the wonderful service. would recommend it again!

Went by for a spontaneous dinner. Friendly service. We had mozzarella and tomatoes, pasta arrabiata and linguine with truffles. All was ok tasty. The house wine was a “primitivo” and was drinkable. Not bad.

We had lunch twice there and we were really satisfied. The staff was really nice, although we had to speak italian in order to get along we don't speak german you see. The food was really nice an value for money. The homemade lasagna...as well as the tagliatelle with truffle were delicious.

The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly they made my solo dinners at this small and busy restaurant very enjoyable. The salads are large and well-made. The pasta dishes are very good: my Pumpkin Raviolis with a truffle sauce were simply extraordinary: full of flavor...and perfectly cooked.

so good! friendly staff, no problem. in the evening due to the half marathon the next morning and she treats it seamlessly! we had bruschetta and buffalo mozzarella caprese to start and then pasta puttanesca and mezzalune with ricotta and an amazing red... sauce for dessert cassata sicilliana and made to house panna cotta. divine. would come back 100%.
