"We visit in early afternoon. There was no other customers in the restaurant only us. We ordered three dishes for two people, the ginseng chicken soup, the fried noodles and a small pig feet. The fried noodles tastes good but a bit oily. The pig feet is different from what I tried in Korea, with some thick sauce on it... taste not bad. The ginseng chicken soup is ok. You can find a small ginseng stuck in the chicken. But we couldnt taste any ginseng in the soup. Total is around £35. We felt v full when we left. Overall is so and so... but what could I expect in UK? Only visit when i miss korean food a lot. Food could be even better."

The Palace is a wonderful, friendly local restaurant. We had Korean chicken, fried tofu, kimchi pancakes and beef bbq. all very tasty and the plates went back empty. The service was attentive and it was great value for money. Keep up the good work!

We love this restaurant so much. It is not so hot and full of flavor. It is a shop with easy access to children. 4 kinds of side dishes, Namur, 2 types of kimchi and potatoes are always available. None of the dishes are included. It is a sweet taste overall.

Went for lunch yesterday with my daughter who is a fan of Korean food. Our meal was delicious . The staff was very friendly and although its about 1 hour drive from where we live, it is worth the trip. It feels very authentic and local Korean people were also eating there which in my books, is a good sign. I recommend this little gem.

Popped into this restaurant for a snack before going to a show. First surpise was that they do not serve wine by the glass, you have to buy a bottle for £25. Bigger surprise that you could buy a bottle of whiskey for £50. Prices were double what you would normally find in Korean restaurants. Needless we walked out without buying a thing. We were the only 2 in there. No surprise there!

We went to Korea earlier this year and last Sunday, we were craving a good bibimbap, the sort we had in Seoul. Tried Palace Restaurant, and found it lovely. We had a beef bibimbap and steamed short ribs, and they were the real thing, tasty and well executed and served quickly and smoothly by a friendly woman. They also serve proper Korean beers, and the place isn't too expensive. Will be back.

Walked into this restaurant as a couple of others which we planned to eat were closed on Sunday. Good helpful service and served a wide variety of Korean food. Ordered a seafood casserole and a kimchi fried rice. Although prices seemed reasonable but found the casserole lacking in seafood but rather bulked up with tons of beansprouts. Must admit I’ve enjoyed better quality of seafood casserole in other Korean restaurants.

Swung back through New Malden after trip to Box Hill and decision to have supper in one of the many Korean restaurants in this significant Korean neighbourhood. Came upon this whole street of options and chose this one which seemed the most snug and lively. Good value first rate meal. We’ve grown familiar with the tables with a grill in them. Had a pleasant 14% drink with little plums in it. May have over-ordered when we added a kimchi pancake to our main. All in a good session.

We went to this restaurant a few days ago as it has a very good review. However it is a total disappointment. The food was not that good, barbecue meat not as fresh as some other restaurant. The tea was very close to blank water. But the main disappointment was the attitude of the waitress. She told us you cannot have unlimited refill when we were only asking for our first refill of the side dishes. She kept telling us I 'm so busy , not in a friendly way, but rather that do not bother me anymore . Will never come back.

My wife had been nagging me to try Korean on this holiday, given New Malden was such a Korean hub. We finally went and took my parent too New Malden residents of near 50 years. There was a lively, bustling atmosphere and a nice setting. We got mixed tempura, vegetables, fried rice, noodles and chicken. The tempura prawns were delicious as was the spicy chicken and noodles. If there was one complaint, there was too much eggplant in the mixed vegetables and not enough variety in the mixed tempura. Apart from that, we thoroughly enjoyed the night and would happily come back again next time we are over.

"Obon: a petit Japanese udon restaurant that supplies a sense of Japan that cannot be found anywhere else in the whole of the Uk. (5 stars) Location: Obon is located close to the heart of Kingston but the road it’s on is considerably quieter. You must make sure to have a basic knowledge of Kingston in order to find an area to park and to also make sure you leave yourself enough time, taking the unpredictability of the traffic into acount. Even on a week day there can be traffic jams which can put a halt to your plans and due to the small amount of customers Obon can take its important that you not only book but make sure that you arrive at the agreed booking time. With this being said the staff are all lovely so if you are running late, a quick call is all that is required to just give Obon a chance to understand your position. The food: The array of exquisitely prepared sashimi will be sure to create the sensation that you are in a top Japanese restaurant in japan and the flavour of the fish does not fail to match expectations, which will be very high after just one glance at your meal. The fish is delicately seasoned and practically melts on your tongue, this causes a lovely sensation and is genuinely the finest sushi I have tasted in the uk and even matches a lot of the top restaurants in japan. On top of just the traditional types of sushi, which to many is maki rolls Obon also offers many other delicious options such as soft shell crab and even Unagi don, which I must highly recommend due to it consistently being the highlight of my meal. For those of you that were interested in the quality of the basic Japanese dishes such as miso soup or edamame they do not fail to leave you in grand anticipation for what is to come for they are, simply speaking, incredibly good. The miso, in my opinion, is truly remarkable and creates a lasting feeling of warmth throughout your entire body, on top of that it is far superior to other miso’s that I have tasted in all other areas of the world. Overall the quality of the food is something you would expect from a world famous Michelin star restaurant and if you want Japanese food it’s the only place I can recommend. The Restaurant: The restaurant itself is small but authentic in nature and because it only has a enough tables to host around 20 people at the most, the service is exceptionally good and your food is always out quickly so you will not be left hungry for very long. The staff are kind and friendly. And it’s always an enjoyable experience being waves goodbye as you leave the restaurant. You’re also able to watch as they prepare the food, which for some could be entertaining. There are Japanese photos scattered around the room and this further creates an authentic feel. The atmosphere is not lively but it is a restaurant and not a bar so is an ideal location if you are wanting high quality food. With this being said it is still a great place to go with friends and I consistently am able to have a great time no matter the occasion. Price: Obviously, the price of the food is always an important topic to come to and despite the cost of the sushi being slightly higher than you may expect from a small restaurant in Kingston, I would have to say that for the quality of the food it is ultimately a bargain. For three people, you would be spending around £100 so it isn’t cheap but you can go for cheaper types of food such as udon, which is still amazing quality and won’t set you back as much money. Overall: Obon is still my favourite restaurant in the whole of the Uk and is perfect for a special occasion but it isn’t the sort of place you’d go for a casual night out. The food is beyond incredible and thus they can cater for both children and adults by meeting every bodies needs. For anybody that enjoys sushi, I would urge you to give it a go, you won’t regret it"
