Oystercatcher - Carte

From the outside, The Oystercatcher appears to be just another typical British pub. However, it seems to put in a bit more effort than your average establishment...

This was my first time visiting this restaurant for a family gathering since the lockdown nearly a year ago. My sister arranged it because I haven't seen my dad in quite some time.

On arrival we were told 30-45 minute wait for food which was fine. Within approx 10-15 mins of ordering our food was delivered to the table. Unfortunately the food was not thoroughly cooked. Voir le carte

I stopped by for lunch on Monday and ordered the Sunday Best Burger. It was good, although the gravy had a strange flavor that I couldn’t quite identify. The staff, however, were fantastic—very friendly and cheerful. I will definitely be returning!

The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was pleasant. I also enjoyed a nice pint and appreciated the lovely outdoor area. However, I can only give 3 stars because the man at the register was rude; it felt like he didn’t want to be there and made everything seem like a chore.

Update (August 20, 2022): I’ve had to revise my original review. It seems that the restaurant has become quite inconsistent with its food. I've received dishes with items both overcooked and undercooked on the same plate, and other meals arrived cold. It's disappointing given such a beautiful location. Voir le carte

Went with the family for my birthday meal, couldn’t have been more dissatisfied. The starters of breaded mushrooms were greasy and all coating and the lettuce was wilted and turning brown. As for the 3 mains, only 2 arrived by the time the 3rd came I was eating on my own. The chips were greasy the meat I wouldn’t have given to the dog and the salad must have been way out of date. More food went back than was eaten. Safe to say I would never go to this place for food ever again.

Absolutely disgusted !!!!!!! Booked a table weeks ago for new years eve and was supposed to be a nice meal before a surprise weekend away . However on arriving at restaurant just 10 mins before my scheduled booking I was informed by a member of staff that it was closed with no explanation as to why . Annoyed as ruined a romantic weekend as could not find any where else at such short notice to have food . Total lack of contact and communication from restaurant as didn't even have decency to call text or even email me to say it was closed . Stay well away and spend your money somewhere else . Would have given a zero rating if allowed

Not a planned visit today but was greeted by a lovely front of house sever assistant Josh. Josh had a very dynamic and customer incentive while taking our order. He also, went onto help us with taking a party booking for next month. Given that I work in the industry myself and as a front of house server assistant, I can say Josh’s service was brilliant. Furthermore, he even checked for dietary and disability requirements for the booking. The food itself, was delivered very quickly and tasted amazing! My only friendly advice would be, to try and get your front of house members to encourage people to do the surveys. It was dead easy to do by scanning the QR code. The restaurant, is in a lovely...
