"Went there after a long day at Durdle Door and then went back to Poole to do a little crab fishing with the kids. The gentleman who greeted us was very friendly, we were seated immediately and initially opted to sit outside. As it was early evening it was getting a little chilly so the man gave the kids a nice thick warm blanket, which they kids loved. Unfortunately our youngest was still cold so we ended up inside, upstairs which again was really nice. All the meals were excellent, best meal we’ve had the 2 days we were in Dorset! Can’t fault the value given the location. Would definitely recommend and will visit again when we’re next in Poole!"

fantastic vegan menu, so much choice. my friend I went with, said that their non vegan options were delicious. the hummus was the best she ever had. I can't expect to visit again. the eating served to other tables also looked amazing. the customer service was brilliant.

a great little sound at the poole quay waterfront. we only thought of a coffee, but in a wonderful piece of carrot cake spoils everyone, generous and delicious. the personal was fast and efficient. the restaurant looked good, with an extensive day special board. toilets were clean, even luxurious. I would strongly recommend it.

We decided to stop in here since we weren't in the mood for a pub meal. It felt more like a cafe than a fancy restaurant, but we still had a delightful meal. There was a great variety of dishes to choose from. When we visited on a Wednesday, Maria was the only server, and it was quite busy. It's an ideal spot for casual dining, with plenty of people in shorts and jeans. Voir le carte

What a gem this restaurant is! My partner and I enjoyed a delightful meal accompanied by a stunning view. The food was exceptional, and they catered to our dietary needs without any issues (I’m lactose intolerant, and my partner is a vegetarian). They offered plenty of vegan options, including cake! The staff was warm, personable, and attentive. The restaurant itself is very charming and clean, featuring a laid-back yet comfortable ambiance.

The food at Oriel is consistently good, but there were a few issues during our visit. When we arrived, I mentioned that it was a birthday celebration, and it would have been nice if the staff acknowledged that with a birthday greeting. There was no confirmation or recognition of the occasion. While I don’t expect free items, we did spend a significant amount, so a small gesture would have been appreciated. Additionally, the Oriental touch of the birthday dish was a bit too salty, possibly from excessive soy sauce. When the waitress checked in on us, I provided this feedback, but I was surprised to see that it went back to the kitchen.

"Booked a table of 5 for my birthday dinner. We were promptly seated then immediately asked for drinks orders before even being offered a drinks menu or water. After we had ordered drinks we were being rushed into ordering some food, every two minutes different waiters coming and asking if we are ready to order (at least 7 times). After we did order and the food was brought out, we were then just forgotten about and nobody came over anymore to check if we needed any more drinks (4 out of 5 glasses were empty) or if the food was ok. (It was- but no one checked). After we had finished dining, we still had empty glasses and had to wait 20+ minutes until we eventually stopped a waiter walking past and asked if we could order more drinks. The drinks then took another 15 minutes to come. It was also very disappointing that although we had mentioned on the booking itself that it was for my birthday, there was no acknowledgement of this (I have been before and had received a plate with ‘happy birthday’ written on it in some kind of sauce with a sparkler). My sister even went to ask the woman working on the front desk and received a standoffish attitude back saying no. When the £235 bill came, it even listed ‘birthday plate £0.00’ on it!!! That really let the evening down. The interactions with the staff themselves were great, they were very polite and personable but the actual level of service of being rushed to order and then totally forgotten about really dampened what could have been a fantastic evening."
