"I visited for the first time a week ago whilst out on a bike ride, although I have been meaning to pop in for ages. It was an awful rainy day but the staff and the lovely warm environment were very welcoming. The coffee was excellent and good value and the menu looked very tempting for a planned future visit. "We had an absolutely amazing meal at Marco's! Omg, I will be DREAMING about the aubergine parmigiana forever! I'm honestly gutted we live 2.5 hrs away because this was the best meal I've ever eaten. We came for dinner (2 adults and a child and ordered the veggie calzone, parmigiana and a salad all to share. The portions are HUGE! We left stuffed and so happy as the food was just gorgeous. We sat outside out the back and had the lovely waterfall as our soundtrack. The staff were really friendly, attentive and moved tables about to accommodate us (and to fit the massive plates on! . The food came out quickly and was so hot and fresh. Everything was just divine I honestly can't express how delicious it all was. I am NOT a salad person and I loved the salad as the dressing was so tasty. The calzone was crunchy, cheesy, buttery and garlicky. But the star of the show was the aubergine parm. It came with this deliciously crunchy foccacia bread. The top was cheesy and crispy, the sauce was the absolute best tomato sauce I've ever had and the aubergine and veg inside was the perfect filling. You will not regret visiting!! Vegetarian options: Amazing veggie options!"

"this place surpassed my expectations. first, it is a beautiful room. dog-friendly also. we ate from the a la carte menu (picture.) I had to start the soft bowl collar and the oktopus as main. I have rarely seen softly peeled crab on a menu in Britain, when I have seen it has been bad, so I have ordered more in the hope than expected. it was great. crispy, sweet and juicy. the accompanying green salad was a great guide. the main octopus court was incredibly tender, according to my opinion, they should not interfere with the king Prawn-Squid, as it distracts from the sheer quality of the cooking taste of the oktopus. we shared a dessert of almond-Marmalade cake with mandelbiscuits eis. I'm not a big dessert fan as I don't have a sweet tooth, but that was good. I would have chosen a cheeseboard of local yorkshire lancashire cheese if that had been an option. I just moved into this one, I'm gonna eat again."

"Nice venue and the staff friendly but the food was very disappointing. This place once had a good reputation for food but from my experience and from other reviews it seems there's a problem. 2 meals I asked for from the menu were not available. Carrot and cabbage that accompanied the mushroom pie x2 sparse and bland, the pies themselves small but tasty. Fish and chips, fish cooked without batter for gluten free but was very dry and tuff, terrible tasting cheap white fish. The all day breakfast was ok the sausages nice. The restaurant was to cold to comfortably sit and eat with your coat off. Poor vegan vegetarian choice. Poor value for money."

"Amazing night thank you! We cycled to Hebden Bridge from Mirfield and fancied having dinner there, but we didn’t want to leave our bikes outside (even locked . The restaurant offered to put our bikes in a part of the restaurant not being used and that was just the start of an amazing meal. I can’t believe the owner does all his own cooking. My partner is well looked after on business trips and has eaten in some fine restaurants and he was blown away by the quality of the carpaccio and the lamb courgettes 3 ways, as was i with my tagliatelle gamberoni. Couldn’t fault the meal, the wine (we got the train back : and service. A most romantic evening overall. Thank you so much."
