"Was visiting Edinburgh with my family for the weekend having travelled to Scotland from the states. Thought I booked in for dinner on the Sunday but turns out I booked for the Saturday my mistake. However, when I phoned them up (having received a missed call from the restaurant) and realized the error, they were completely apathetic. I explained the situation and requested a cancellation for Saturday and a table for Sunday. I was told they didn 't have any availability for Sunday and that I was too late they had already charged me £20 per person for my Saturday booking (that 's £60 for the three of us). I asked if that could be cancelled and they said there was nothing they could do. In no way did they attempt to accommodate my family for us to actually be able to eat there. I understand a cover charge for last minute bookings and in my experience this is maybe £5 per head or £10 if the booking is for parties of 6 or more. This restaurant had full availability when I went to book (one of the reasons why I didn 't realize I had gotten my days wrong) More importantly THERE WERE NO TERMS/CONDITIONS DETAILING I WOULD BE CHARGED when I went through the booking process. I never checked a box in fact I unchecked the marketing promotion boxes. It wasn 't until I went back and looked at my confirmation email which you receive AFTER you make the booking that I saw this: CREDIT CARD POLICY This restaurant requires a credit card to secure this booking. All credit card information will be processed securely. No shows or cancellations less than 1 day in advance will be subject to a charge of £20 per person. Changes to guest count made less than 1 day in advance will be subject to a charge of £20 per person. This is ONLY detailed on the confirmation emails for bookings made same day NOT for bookings made in advance, but they still charge you if you cancel within a day of the booking regardless. So even if I had noticed my mistake immediately after booking, I STILL WOULD HAVE BEEN CHARGED even though I they don 't make you aware of the charge until after it 's too late."

Really indulgent vegan pizzas. We tried the cacciatora and the meat feast pizzas. The cacciatora has seitan, roast potatoes, garlic, olives, artichokes, rosemary, tomato and vegan mozzarella, and it was absolutely delicious. The meat feast loaded with flavourful olives, onions etc. Whether or not you are vegan, I would definitely recommend. (We are not vegan, but had an excellent meal.

Great to have a menu that I don’t have to worry about what I can/can’t eat! Service, a young girl was attentive and polite recommending things to my wife, and a Lady who appeared to be manager/owner was also very nice. Then the food, my wife had pasta which was glorious, and I had, strangely, a (non) meat feast! Incredibly tasty, desserts also really tasty. Would be a regular if I lived near! But unfortunately not practical!! If visiting Edinburgh though, I highly recommend this place, give it a whirl you won’t be disappointed!! Thanks

This vegan food was outstanding. The food tasted fresh and very tasty and there are so many great dishes to choose from. Great starters, nibbles, mains and desserts, plus a excellent range of great drinks. The atmosphere was great and felt traditional Italian, especially more so than any of the big chains that attempt this badly. The service was excellent, with friendly and attentive staff and I cannot recommend this restaurant higher. One thing to note though is that it is not the largest restaurant, so I would recommend booking before arriving as it is a little outside the centre of the city.

Everything was incredible here! My friend and I were shocked everything was vegan as there was so much choice and it all tasted incredible! I had the white sauce 4 ‘cheese’ pizza which was the best pizza I have ever tasted, it was so creamy. As someone with a milk allergy I didn’t have to worry at all which was amazing. We ended up having 3 courses and sharing everything. Highlights were everything but in particular the ‘burrata’ for starter and the Tiramisu (yes that’s right a vegan tiramisu! . Made our first night in Edinburgh start off well and if I lived closer I’d definitely be a regular! Make sure you visit if you’re in the city!

This is our 2nd visit to Nova Pizza, but the first where we brought friends. I’m short, the pasta was good, the service was average (the lady with the short black hair verging on being very rude) and the prices ridiculous. Between £19 and £22 for a bowl of pasta, £135 for 4 with bread, main course and one person having wine. And all of this sitting in the cold. We asked if we could have the door closed, we were told that it’s too hot in the kitchen with the door closed. So, the customers can freeze but the chef is ok. Get some ventilation in the kitchen and keep the very expensive paying customers warm. We normally go to their sister restaurant, Sorra Lella, which is 100 times better.

I tend to eat a fair amount of pasta at home, so if I'm going to pay money for it out, I want it to be good. And I was not disappointed by my visit. I loved the cosy environment and vibe, friendly service and a menu with a good range of totally vegan pasta and pizza dishes. Alongside the main menu there were specials, which included pistachio cheesecake, so from the outset, I knew I needed to save some room for that! We had the garlic cheese break and tomato soup for starters both delicious. For mains we both went for pasta garlic and chilli, and the carbonara. Both were very very good. I suspect the pizzas are fab too but that's for another visit. Decent value too. Around £35 per head for 2...

Was so much looking forward to eating here with my family after attending a university event in Edinburgh. My husband has visited before when in Edinburgh and raved about it. Unfortunately, we had our day in Edinburgh when the weather experience meant there was 3 weeks of rain in one weekend. I'd booked an evening slot, but we walked to the restaurant for just after opening time (wet through and cold to see if we could change the booking. They were able to change it slightly, but we were unable to wait two hours in the conditions we were in. I rang them with 1 hour 30 minutes notice to cancel, (with great regret- had been so looking forward to I know what would have been amazing meals , but...

"new kapitel has caught my attention after I was on top ten on trip advisor only months after the opening in the oktober last year. that and the fact that it is open for my early january birthday, made it the perfect place to celebrate to become a little older. I was with the man and his family. the man is quite used to my taste and good to the kind of kitchen that would appeal to me for a special occasion; his family not so much and I was filled with shame as his mother scornful went through the menu trying to find something she would enjoy. I've eaten with the family of the man, and I know they enjoy eating, so I think it's a failure of the menu that it is not accessible. the benming always blooming and garnish can appeal to some, but for others it is overcomplicated and it is necessary to find a balance between the two. we start with the starters and I go for venison sour wort pithvier. the venison was underheated and incredibly dry, to the happiness the sourded a little moisturizing and so saved the whole dish, but the aromen were quite not clear, except the garnitur of plastered mushrooms I thoroughly enjoyed. for the largest part we chose a fish dish for our main,- sea trout, smoked muddles, petersilien and coast herbs. where the starter fell, the main recording is getting back. the dish is rich and creamy, and each element adds the complexity of the taste as a whole, without disturbing. the concept is now an old one, and it would be deceptive if it had not worked, as it would essentially pay with this place. I enjoyed my meal in new chapter, although I do not agree with it is stellar status under the hierarchy of edinburgh eateries. it is top ten position is just a flash in the pan of hot popularity, and in time it will be plated in the upper half of the middle stage where it belongs. and that is where it belongs, the dishes can be plated with a michelin star in understood, and the venue and the supporting media has the clean lines and empty slate look of fine but eat the team has a long gone to go if that is their real aim. at the end, although it was a beautiful meal, and cheap (at the moment I would not be surprised to see their prices slowly rise) and the man’s mother found something they enjoyed and that is the most important."
