We have had lunch here today and it was so nice best food out we have had in a long time and great service even though they were busy definitely be going back

What a wonderful find in the beautiful village of Shardlow. I was lucky enough to try one of Faye’s lasagna and it really didn’t disappoint. Smaller plates are available and are perfect . All the bar staff are really friendly and the locals are just lovely too. Dogs are welcome and there’s plenty of outdoor seating. I’ll be back for more Lasagna Voir le carte

Busiest day of the year, Shardlow Festival. Understaffed, one member of staff completely losing the plot in front of customers. Eventually they shut the pub for half the afternoon. Reficulous, unprofessional. Thr hospitality industry have grizzled on about their woes since Covid. Even when they do have a opportunity to do well they blow it big time.

Recently visited this lovely canal side pub for a meal, we were served very quickly and enjoyed our meal we always finish with a latte or cappuccino but unfortunately it was one of the worst coffees we have ever had, it was hot watery milk we complained to the bar staff who said their was nothing they could do as the machine was preset? This has not been our experience drinking Lavazza from other outlet’s

I often visit the New Inn at Shardlow with my husband, so I chose to take a friend here for lunch. We didn't book and it was really busy (a Thursday lunchtime). As we were waiting at the bar to ask about a table, one of the ladies came to us and asked how many of us there were; she then proceeded to find us a table brilliant. We both ordered salad bowls and they were delicious, as always. We will keep coming here for the friendly and efficient service, and great food. Voir le carte

We would advise booking if you intend eating here … it certainly is popular and we often see people turning up who haven’t booked . As usual we booked early evening and being creatures of habit both ordered cheesey chicken from the light bites menu. Didn’t wait long , the chips were hot and salad looked fresh as usual . We find the light bites menu just enough without wasting anything. A member of staff checked on us part way through the meal and bought more tomato ketchup as requested. Can’t fault the New Inn , the staff are all super polite . Definitely recommend.

After a delightful day out, we were in search of a pub that served meals and were happy to come across The New Inn in Shardlow. We arrived before food service began at 5.30pm, so we enjoyed a drink and perused the specials board in the meantime. We were impressed by the friendly and enthusiastic young staff - there were no unhappy or disinterested faces to be found here! Our meals arrived promptly and were all incredibly tasty. Despite it being early on a Tuesday evening, every table in the restaurant was occupied. This is a testament to the quality of the food and service, and we will definitely be returning. This restaurant is one of our favorites to dine at. We usually go in the early evening as it tends to get crowded. It is recommended to make a reservation, and the parking lot can be a bit tight. We arrived a little early at 5pm for our 5:30pm reservation and were seated at our requested table right on time. Our server, Evie, was very polite and reminded us that we couldn't order until 5:30pm. We ordered cheesy chicken from the lite bites menu after jokingly pestering another staff member, Jeremy, to take our order. The food arrived quickly and was delicious.
