"Afternoon tea needs worked on. For the type of hotel with the price they are charging there is a bit to improve. Firstly when 6 people book for afternoon tea they don't want 3 tables of 2. Also the food was then not served in sharing displays for 2 to share. We had on plate with sausage rolls and savoury muffins. Sausage meat was cheap and fatty. Cakes were ok. Meringues could have been better. Looked nicer than tasted. No printed menu of what the afternoon tea entailed. Did not feel like a treat. Also caught a male bar person chastising the female waitress at the bar which whether necessary or not should not have happened in front of guests to the hotel. Also charged full price when advertised online at cheaper. Bill was adjusted and apology given. No return visit planned."

Excellent afternoon tea with a beautiful view. Excellent service as well. Hot savouries were excellent, especially the sausage rolls. Sandwiches were fine if a little uninspiring, and the vegetarian in the party was only given egg sandwiches. Scones were really good I wish I could get mine so light. Great selection of bite sized sweet treats. Teapots refilled as required. A very enjoyable afternoon. Voir le carte

We asked if we could have our afternoon tea outside and the staff were more than accommodating. We didn't feel rushed at all and were able to enjoy the beautiful views in a relaxed atmosphere. The staff were all so welcoming and friendly, providing first-class service. The food was delicious and we were able to book online and state any special requirements. Our afternoon was made special thanks to this wonderful experience. We would definitely recommend it.

I recently dined at Eolas restaurant at Murrayshall Country Estate for a birthday celebration. The cozy bar was perfect for enjoying a drink before dinner. The restaurant boasts breathtaking views and the food was not only beautifully plated but also incredibly tasty. The staff were welcoming and provided excellent service. The prices for both food and drinks were very reasonable. While there are vegetarian options available on the menu, it would be nice to see more plant-based choices offered. Overall, I highly recommend this venue for any special occasion.

We stayed overnight at the Murrayshall Hotel and had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. The food was excellent and served by super efficient, friendly staff. We also had drinks in the lounge, in a very pleasant, ambient environment. If I’m to be at all critical, there was no draft lager/beer available in the lounge and bar staff had to visit another bar to obtain drinks, which took some time as the hotel was busy. The hotel has also been tastefully furnished throughout. We found all staff to be very polite, efficient and friendly and we would highly recommend it to others. We will definitely visit again. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed Sunday lunch in the Eolas resturant on Easter Sunday as a my birthday treat. The overall experience was without doubt the best I have enjoyed in years. The customer service, menu, ambiance and food quality was first class. In addition to the food my partner enjoyed a wine flight which was lovely and complimented the courses enjoyed. Following our meal we enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the piano bar while we had tea and coffee which was a lovely end to an excellent lunch. Well done to all of the staff who’s attention to detail was excellent. Needless to say we will return to enjoy again.

We were fortunate to be given a voucher and decided to use it for our wedding anniversary dinner, I booked ahead advising of my food intolerances to lactose and gluten sadly due to medication. When we got there the staff were truly helpful and attentive, our young waiter was still learning and friendly. It all went wrong after that I was told I could only have baked smoked salmon for starter with a supplement of £6, Aubergine the vegetarian course or steak which nether appealed, I did have the salmon, Duck and Honey meringue, my husband had Scallops, Venison and Cheese many of the courses having supplements. It was okay very small main portions and expensive sadly not Michelin star. We won't...

"We stumbled across this place on the last night of a fortnight in Scotland and couldn 't be more glad that we did and that they had space. We were seated promptly (underneath the fan thankfully considering the heatwave), asked whether we 'd eaten there before (we hadn 't), had the menu explained to us (suggested 3 tapas per person) and then left alone briefly to consider the menu. Once ordered, drinks were delivered in a timely fashion, followed by breads dips to tempt tide us over until our tapas arrived. It wasn 't very quick, but I didn 't think it was unduly long either just the right length of time for non fast food that is being prepared freshly. And when it arrived, we were delighted as it was delicious! The only slight disappointment was that salted cod wasn 't available, but that was soon forgotten. My personal favourite was the poached chorizo in red wine with honey glaze, but we were happy with all of our options (patatas bravas, haggis balls, pinchas de pollo, spinach chickpea stew, haddock in red pepper sauce and Spanish tortilla the latter really made by the spicy tomato salsa on the side). 5 between the two of us would probably have sufficed, which would have meant I had space for one of the ice creams, but in hindsight, I 'm glad I didn 't. Excellent service, delicious food, our best meal of our holiday. We probably won 't be back (living in Birmingham and all) but definitely would if we were local."
