"I visited this restaurant for dinner on a Sunday, and I must say, it was a great experience. They offered a selection of beef, turkey, pork, and gammon, all of which were high quality, generous portions, and absolutely delicious. The service was excellent, with friendly and attentive staff. I highly recommend this place and plan to return. It's best to make a reservation to avoid any disappointment. Price per person: £10–20. Food: 5, Service: 5, Atmosphere: 4."

"Went here for birthday Sunday lunch. It was lovely. However, the mashed potatoes could have been done with a little more care and attention, but besides that, I would definitely go back again. The staff were very kind and had an amazing level of banter, which made the atmosphere all the better! Price per person: £10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"Situated in the village of Wolsingham, the Bay Horse Hotel is a converted 19th century farmhouse. The bar is stunning, warm, comfortable, and inviting. The restaurant is small and quaint, giving the option of an intimate diner for two, or as a party. The rooms are pleasantly decorated and en suite. However, there are a lot of stairs so would not be suitable to some. We spent four nights here, and it felt like family. Staying in room two, we had access to the front balcony. The views from this are great. Taking in a beck, bridge, stone cottages and rolling hillsides, it is an ideal place to while away a few hours with a nice glass of wine. Our hosts, Amanda and Rob, were amazing. Friendly and welcoming, they made us feel at home. As we were the only guests mid-week, they allowed us a good lie-in and made breakfast when we went down, rather than a strict timetable. They had great local knowledge on good walks, attractions and events. They could not do enough for us, even offering a fleece blanket so we could enjoy the balcony one cooler evening. Bed and Breakfast starts at around £50; meals are around £10. A well-stocked bar has a wide variety of drinks, beer and such is from Cameron’s Brewery. The Bay Horse is perfect for a drink, meal or short stay. For walkers, it’s ideally sited for access to Weardale. With only a short stroll to the high street, it’s a great place to forget it all, relax, and enjoy some fresh air."

"Welcome back cosy local! You can 't help but notice if you live local to Crook the popularity of 'The Farrer 's ' since it re-opened. Many an evening people flood to the welcoming atmosphere and deep sinking carpets of a lovely local pub with amazing staff, service and 'how do they do it that cheap? ' value food. We 've been in a couple of times recently for meals and the food has been great every time. On a recent date night we enjoyed Prawn Cocktail and Mozzarella Sticks and it was delicious, the starter portions were large. For mains we 've enjoyed Chicken Parmo (big), Smothered Chicken (Delish) and Bangers and Mash, each meal has been wonderful. Chunky chips and salad on the side. We think the portions are big and we were pretty stuffed after a two course meal. On two occasions we 've arrived around 7pm on a week-day evening and there 's been a steady flow of customers, not too packed and quiet, comfortable atmosphere. We tried the Sunday Carvery just after re-opening and Sunday lunch was nice, it was quite busy, remember to buy a Carvery Meal ticket before queuing as this is a mistake we made."

"Ordered a blt toastie and ham salad ,pot of tea and hot chocolate came to just over £21 which i thought was good . Blt came with chips a bit of salad and coleslaw and my partner said it was lovely . I had the ham salad which tasted nice but wasn't good value for money , 2 slices of ham,around 2 or 3 small tomatoes choped up a few slices of cucumber a radish sliced up some corn and loads and loads of lettuce(far to much lettuce) this cost £9.50 . For that price i was expecting some other saled stuff with what i got maybe a boiled egg some grated carrot or beetroot, onion, coleslaw with some chips or new potatoes ."
