"a night for a birthday party. room was beautiful and the staff was excellent, but eating was disappointing. In the evening was eaten by over boiled and dry eating (beans hatch with chopped eggs, which burned on the floor and let the eggs rock hard.) the meal was returned and we were calculated 50% for the dish. the boiled breakfast was also disappointing, as a fried egg was solid again and nothing but edgy. Maybe we were pampered by so many good restaurants along the coast of norfolk, but eggs are not hard! would be definitiw to stay on site, but would eat elsewhere."

"Overall a lovely Birthday meal in a beautiful pub. Service was slower than expected and it was very hot sitting under the glass roof outside area. But saying that the food was lovely, great choice for the children and great to have an outside play area. The dessert table was so good. Loved the whole layout, decor and ambience of the pub. Bar staff were good. Finished off our meal with a drink in the games room. Will definitely be back and would love to stay one day!"

"There are many places to choose from in Holt to have lunch, but we both thought that The Kings Head looked a great place for a bite and drink. I'm so glad we picked there as we had very tasty sandwiches, served with salad, coleslaw, and French fries. I opted for a BLT on granary, which was definitely one of the best BLTs I've ever had. Be warned that you need a good appetite as we each only managed half of our sandwiches. The portions are extremely generous. We ate in the restaurant, which has been decorated for autumn, and it looked lovely. Both the bar and table service were excellent and very friendly. As I couldn't eat my sandwich, they wrapped it up to take it out. If this was local to us, we'd definitely be regular visitors. I have no hesitation in highly recommending. To get good food and goid service is great. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit."

"Fantastic food!!! We had the vegetarian pizza which was one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. The chilli spaghetti dish with anchovies was delicious and would also work well with prawns. The kids menu had good options at a good price. My 4 yr old loved the spaghetti with tomato sauce, it was a smooth rich zingy tomato sauce which was very tasty. Portions were a good size and everything was reasonably priced. Great service by the staff, as we were seated a bottle of water was placed on the table, without us having to ask. Very thankful we were fitted in at late notice, after we had arrived at another restaurant and were not impressed with the menu options or £12 for a child’s sausage and chips! Highly recommend this place and will definitely return when we next visit Holt."

"Upon our arrival in Holt for the first time, we took a chance on a lunch spot and were pleasantly surprised. Despite arriving towards the end of the lunch rush, we were not rushed and appreciated the opportunity to warm up. The cafe had a steady flow of customers ordering coffee, indicating a loyal customer base. The menu offered a variety of British cafe classics and hearty pub-style dishes. My wife enjoyed the cottage pie with peas, chips, and gravy, while I chose the Steak Kidney pudding with mash and gravy. Both meals were generously portioned and tasted homemade. In light of some negative reviews, we felt compelled to share our positive experience. Thank you."
