"We stopped in for a bite to eat after a long walk. I'm tighter than a clam's bottom at high tide so I wanted something quick and cheap before my extravagant other half drags me into the most expensive restaurant she can possibly find for...dinner. The staff are straightforward, quick and competent. I had a bog standard cheese sandwich. The bread was great, there was plenty of cheese and a tasty chutney with it too. Additionally a nice little salad and some crisps came with it which I managed to stuff into the sandwich before cutting it in half and inhaling it. Prices are pretty fair considering there's no next door competition. Sandwiches are about £6 £11. Decor is very 1982 ski resort-esque but there really is no need to waste money on that sort of rubbish. It's clean and cosy. The cakes look very naughty and I'm far too disciplined for such culinary extravagance. One day I might let myself go... I'll order a salmon and cream cheese sandwich and a cake... then take my partner for a meal at the poshest restaurant around without even complaining very much. Then when we get home I'd fall asleep in front of the TV while simultaneously breaking wind. I can't wait to retire. Apologies, I digress."

I came here 4 years ago on an AT trip. the massive scenes are a pronounced memory. I am happy to say that the scenes are as big as ever, as delicious, and still warm! the staff was very friendly and the services were... really fast. so definitiw a place to try.

we have the impression a long time ago that it was a bit a basic, greasy spoon for budgetcamper. that is not the case now. it offers suppe (her nice with huge pieces brot,) salat, paninis, etc. I had a Welsh...Rarebit that I enjoyed. we often use the a5 and will certainly call again. it just worked so well.

we found this caffe last winter and praised to return. we had a lunch snack and then went to the breakfast. the portion sizes are very generous and great for money. the service is excellent and the personal is friendly and welcoming. we asked. to take away their fantastic scones, and were advised when we waited until we had eaten our breakfast that it came fresh from the ones. they are something else, we have never seen such huge scenarios! would highly recommend.

I have been using this cafe for years when I visit Snowdonia for pleasure and business and I just love the atmosphere and food. Especially the chocolate cake and brownies! The staff are fantastic and when I had the misfortune of my car breaking down...in their car park the other day were accommodating and made me smile. Yes you probably can't find a better place to break down. The brownie and sausage roll were excellent and set me up for my 22 hour trip home. Thank You

We came here today after I tried to hike Moel Siabod, Ordered a regular breakfast. The service was slow but the prices were ok and the food was very nice, friendly staff and in a convenient location if your grabbing breakfast or lunch while out...hiking. I can't comment on take outs but it was nice to sit inside and watch the world. Clean cafe and even though the bacon was fatty it wasn't salty and the sausage was fab. For about £2 or £3 you can ask for large tea and they bring it in a teapot with enough for 2 cups. Next time i'm on the a5 I'll pop in and try something else

First time visiting after hearing good things, came in to a mostly chilled cafe around 12pm on 02/04/22 and noticed as we walked in a sign “wait to be seated” there was loads of tables empty and no one looked hugely busy but the cashier...had a few guest, the waitress on didn’t make eye contact once on the multiple times she walked past, a simple “hey take a seat” or “I’ll just be a few minutes sorry” would of been enough busy instead she just completed blanked us and left us standing there. After 10 minutes, we were trying to be polite initially we just left. We only waited due to the sign saying wait to be seated so if this isn’t the case remove the sign or inform the waitress to tell new...

"So , we ate here because we come to BYC alot have only ever had a drink in here so decided to go for our anniversary my partners birthday too,, we were shown to our table I ordered a soda (large one) a bottle of red wine,, it came then I drank the 'soda ' it was lemonade !! I 'm allergic to aspartame penelalanine I knew immediately what it was,,, I get a racing heart this mix up upset me , I remained calm however I was upset by this hugely as I 've avoided a reaction for years she had re-read it back to me so I thought she had this right,, then we ordered our meal the starter came it was OK then our main arrived I specifically asked for no sauces on my partners salt pepper burger it was smothered in sauce salad I said just the chicken the cheeses bacon nothing else ! I had ordered the fajitas they came with ice cold red peppers in a separate dish ? How vile freezing red pepper for me yo put on warm fajitas, strange it diddnt come with fries either I had to order these separately they never made it to the table she 'd forgotten I cancelled them it just wasn 't worth the wait,,, we were asked if everything was OK.... no was my answer it was a disaster from start to end, we got chatting to the lad in the table next to us, he was working away he 'd waited half a hour for a pint of beer, he aske us for our salt pepper saying if he asked the waitress he 'd be there till **** next Monday! You get the gist, regarding my allergies I have 'ventricular ectopics ' triggered by aspartame it was present in the lemonade I was given however I didn 't intake enough to trigger this ...it could of thou ! Then after complaining they took £3 off the bill ! £3 for the toppings on his burger ,, it cost £71.00 still, I was thoroughly deflated, fed up , annoyed ! It was after all my partners birthday our anniversary we tried to not let it dictate the events of our evening,, however it felt rubbish so here we are !!"
