"We had a craving for Indian food on a cold, wet, Thursday evening so we decided to give Maharaja a try based on the positive reviews. Looking through the dimly lit restaurant windows directly off the well travelled Ramstein walking platz, the place seemed completely empty. Against our better judgment, we dismissed our "Spidey" senses on account of the poor weather and decided to give it a shot. Not only should we have listened to our intuition, we were ripped off on the final bill. Our waiter, who claimed to be a son of the proprietors seemed not to want to be there. The only other person in the restaurant was someone in the kitchen...the cook, we hoped. As the only guests, one would think to receive excellent service...hardly. Our waiter was more concerned w/ his smartphone than taking care of his only customers. A simple spritz seemed a chore and half the wines listed on the menu were not available. We ordered a paneer appetizer and two common main dishes w/ chicken. The dishes were average; not bad for an Indian restaurant basically in the middle of nowhere. However, the food was not the main reason to ever return. When we asked for the bill, the waiter approached the table w/o a written bill and unabashedly announced what we owed...Knowing what we had ordered, I was slightly taken aback at the price and quickly calculated what we had ordered, 40+ Euro less than quoted. Not wanting to make a scene (in retrospect, who cares, we were the only customers...LOL), I made the conscious decision to just pay thinking this poor chap needed the cash more than I and I justified it as he needed to cover the evenings operating costs...at my expense! So, I paid the bill vowing to myself to never to return and ensuring not one of my circle ever frequent this poor excuse of a restaurant. We should have listened to our intuition."

Gutes indisches Essen mit angenehmer Schärfe. Gut gewürzt und ausreichend große Portionen. Freundlicher Service.

Went here for a girls night and had an amazing dinner. Food was delicious and cooked perfect. We had a booth and it was very nice!

Ist keine Geschmacksexplosion, aber man kann es als ordentliches Essen bezeichnen. Gute Auswahl, relativ hohe Preise. Aber: schöne Lage & gutes Ambiente

Two of us ate here and had a good meal with starters and two drinks each for just 48 Euro total. The service was quick, efficient and friendly and the food itself was very tasty. I'd definitely come here again. Voir le carte

I've eaten here a couple of times and enjoyed the food. The chef will spice up your dish if required. The starters were a little greasy for me but the curries / rice and naans are good.Restaurant is a little tired looking. Time for a makeover!

This restaurant was way over rated. The sauce on the chicken tikka massala was more like tomato soup than a sauce. The pompadoms were light but saturated in oil. The only positive was the chicken being nice and moist and the service. Do not recommend if you truly like Indian food.

I was in Ramstein working for a week, and thus sampling the local restaurants. I passed this place one evening, but didn't try it since it was rather empty. However, having tried the other options within walking distance of my hotel, I decided to give it a try, and it was fantastic! I had chicken tikka masala and a vegetable dish (I'm blanking on the name) with spinach and potatoes. The tikka masala was as good as I have had anywhere. I tried this restaurant again and had chicken jalfrezi, which again was perfect. I would perhaps ask for the dish to be more spicy next time, but it was excellent. I strongly recommend this place--if you like Indian, you won't be disappointed.

Felt like Indian food so tried Maharaja… good thing I was there for the company, not the food. Liked the décor, and the food was okay, but the wait was ridiculous. There were only five of us! 30 minutes for the drinks, 45 for the chai. 30 minutes later we get rice… at least 30 minutes later we get everything that was supposed to go on the rice. 20 minutes later we all finally have our food and they bring out more rice to replace what was cold and what was half-eaten because we were so hungry we ate the rice while waiting. Ended up being too spicy for me for the most part (except the naan), but I took home the leftovers anyway ‘cause it was so expensive. I should have just got the naan, but I...

"(If you want to a quick summed up review just skip to #3)The first time I went to Alom Dee in 2014 i was pretty impressed. The quality of service and food were pretty good compared to the appearance of the place. Naturally we thought we discovered a little gem. Not the case now a days! #1. The receptionist/waitress (who doesn't take your order mind you, you write it yourself) is one of the snottiness people I've met. Why this woman is still employed there is beyond me. I'm a pretty laid back guy, takes a fair amount to get under my skin but this young lady did it in about 15 min. Congrats, new record. If the owner had some intelligence he/she would read these reviews and send ole girl packing.#2. The food... what a waste of time and money. It took a solid 20 min to get our order in and even get drinks. The place wasn't busy. When snotty waitress picks it up she lets us know that there is no sushi tonight. Wouldn't be a big deal if you would put up a sign or maybe let some folks know when you seat them. So we adjusted our order and finally got it placed, 30 min in. When we received our food, ONE HOUR AND 15 MIN LATER the orders were incorrect and it was hot garbage. I kid you not, you can get the same quality at a Chinese fast food joint, heck it would probably be better. We choked it down and did our best to get out of there. We went so far as to separate our orders between 2 couples so this rocket scientist of a receptionist wouldn't screw it up, but she did. That was another 10 min to get "fixed". When she returned our receipts were partially done on the computer and partially inked in with pen. Super sketchy. My bill was 70€... 70€ for what looked and tasted like microwave food. I wanted out of there so bad that I just paid it and left. #3. Finally, just some words of recommendation. Don't go here. If you have self respect take a 5 min drive to Mr. Lian's. Great food and even better service. This place is hot and cramped, the food is sub par, prices are obnoxious and service is non-existent. To the owner, fire your receptionist. Seriously, read the reviews, she's losing you patrons. I gave it 24 hours to try and cool off about this visit, didn't work. Don't go here, I'd recommend going hungry before I'd recommend giving your money to this dumpster of an establishment."
