"This is an interesting restaurant from an historical perspective. It may once have been good. Sadly, it is now really rather poor. The room is quite handsome but full of flies and the ageing waiters offer little in the way of welcome. The tortellini in brodo were the least interesting I have had in the region. The broth was almost completely tasteless. The roast pork was dry and with little of the promised sauce. The roast potatoes tasted like the had been cooked the day before and reheated. The safest choice would be to opt for the dried meats and parmesan with balsamic that were on offer. They didn't look too bad and there is a limited amount of damage they can do to them, given they don't really have to pass through the kitchen and the restaurant is between Modena and Parma. I spent the meal fighting off the flies and watching the elderly owner stagger about the restaurant looking like he was going to keel over at any moment. This review is probably far too unkind but the whole thing reminded me of school meals in the 1970s and not in a good way. The place was full on a Monday night. Perhaps it was me but I don't think so."
