Lure Fish Kitchen - Carte

This charming restaurant has a lot of character. The food is incredibly fresh, with a wide selection of fish and delicious vegetable dishes such as minty peas and kale with caballero. The staff is friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this place.

The food is ok but not good enough for a return visit.There was a complaint on our local online community site, Nextdoor, about their £2.50 surcharge on telephone orders, and the owner joined the thread, and got rude and aggressive. Double reason not to return.

Today we stopped by Lure for lunch. We were greeted warmly and enjoyed a fantastic meal. We started with fish cakes and octopus, and then had mackerel and seabream for our main course. The vegetables served on the side were delicious. We definitely plan on returning! Voir le carte

This is the second time we have had a takeaway from Lure both times have been very good. Has a good choice when everyone wants different things. The large potions of chips are massive. Fish cooked well, mussels great and last time I had squid very good. I wish you could give 4.5 out of 5

When it's good, it's really good. When it's not, it's mediocre. Luck of the draw. Fish is sometimes soggy and overly greasy, other times absolutely perfect and crisp. Fries can be underdone greasy soggy, or phenomenal and moreish. Staff is direct and to the point I don't mind but it can feel a bit unfriendly sometimes.

Totally disrespectful gave our food to someone else then were out of what we had ordered and wouldn't give a discount or apologized and said they only wanted to sort it out with my husband how 19th century of them. Portions are tiny and I doubt the fish is actually wild caught. Used to be good but they must have changed owner. Voir le carte

I was so excited to hear we could eat inside again so of course I had to book a table at lure and I was not disappointed in the slightest. The hake was grilled to perfection and the side portions were so filling we took some home with us. It was also very good to see the old waitress back again. She was always very accommodating. Will be back soon!

What a letdown! We ordered Cod and chips for four people, but the fish was undercooked and the large chips were dry and overcooked. It was terrible and a total waste of money...£49!! When I called to complain, I was met with an unapologetic and rude man who accused me of threatening him, which was ridiculous. I am 64 years old and have never had such awful fish and chips. Additionally, the excessive amount of cardboard packaging is unacceptable.

I am being lured back to LURE because I love the fried Halloumi with sweet chilli sauce and I always get a portion of crushed minted peas too. I prefer the french fries to the triple cooked chunkier chips. They are not so thin to be void of any potato. Great size portions too, which makes up for the higher prices. On a lazy evening I can totally justify a take away being delivered to my door, but I do wish they would lower the minimum amount for local deliveries to £15.00 instead of £20. I live alone and shielding, so I have to eat some of the £20 worth of food the next day, otherwise I will not fit through the door when we come out of Lockdown!! Voir le carte
