"This restaurant is one of the oldest of Bilbao with a good name. I wanted to try the traditional food of Bascos Lands so I chose this restaurant. Unfortunately the quality of the food wasn’t the best and I chose just the home menu. I don’t know so much about the traditional dishes but the meat was so fat and plus also other butter or oil; the merlusa fried was mostly similar to a fried egg, with so much oil ; the starters nothing special , just the anchovy and the shrimps tryed to save the situation, simple but tasteful. The dessert also was tipycal, tasteful but interpretate really in a old style. Of course is better to leave a way the presentation of the dishes, instead we should consider it also. Nothing to say about the service and atmosphere, nice both. The price expensive for what you eat. This restaurant has an history but probably they should try to renovate the dishes in a more modern way ….and with less oil or butter. The historical name or the Michelin review doesn’t means high quality."

if you drive, park in parking arenal, in the square. I was spinning to the toe. sandwich el jefe at the entrance is very good! Cod cakes idem.
