"We booked a disabled access room which was so inaccessible it’s ridiculous. The rooms are as far from everything as you can get and as a wheelchair user with a spinal injury there is a very very long way to reception and main entrance/ exit through 4 big doors none of which are automatic but very difficult to get through alone. We swapped our first room (69) as there was a constant dripping noise from the room above. The ‘accessible’ rooms have no lighting around the bed apart from a ridiculous reading light which is impossible to reach with a spinal injury. The only way I could get up and go to the loo was to wake my husband up I don’t need his help at home. The bed side shelf on the bathroom side is much lower than the bed so impossible to use. The bathroom is good but smells. It is dirty under the shower seat. The extractor did not work and there is no shower curtain so EVERYTHING gets soaked including my very expensive electric wheelchair. The room overall is very basic. No drawers, no wardrobe , just 6 hangers on two 6 inch rails. Tea and coffee facilities are standard, a few teabags, coffee sachets and never enough milk pots. The water is scummy and horrible. The chairs in the rooms all have metal ‘u’ shaped legs and are heavy and very difficult to move. Whoever designed this room needs a smack round the head with a reality stick. There was obviously no kind of consultation process as it is so user unfriendly. The cleaners are very noisy all shouting and calling to each other outside the rooms in the mornings. The rooms have little soundproofing so if you want a lay in you’re stuffed with the cacophony. The only meal we ordered was room service gnocchi bolognese. It tasted like fried mince with hardly any other flavour. Grim! My husband ordered sweet potato fries and got regular ones plus the insult of an extra £10 for it to be delivered by the most miserable creature. The condiments, ketchup and mayonnaise were in refilled mini Tiptree jars and was Heinz. One of the refilled mayonnaise jars was dirty on the inside. Very classy not! This room cost over £800 for 4 nights and we booked it on the understanding it was a luxury hotel. It is not. It is a budget hotel designed to cheat you, take your money and do very little else. There is no storage, no fridge, they charge you for everything, one reviewer mentioned a £10 charge for an ice bucket and rental charges for glasses! If you want somewhere luxurious or also have a serious disability avoid this place. It is a total waste of money, it is not what it purports itself to be and it blatantly penny pinches. Edit: I received a reply to this review asking if I’d raised my concerns at the time. Well, Lifehouse Spa, yes, I did and your staff didn’t give a hoot! Rooms: 1 Service: 1 Location: 4"

No drawers in room, no flannel, only 3 hangers per person, no USB charger, no air con so not really luxury. Restaurant OK, Italian food, service good but food on heavy side, not subtle not that hot when served, service staff very friendly and helpful but need service training. Parking some distance from front door. Spa excellent but overcrowded, gym super. Quite pricey.

I highly recommend this place! It offers the best sleep I've had in ages; the bed is incredibly comfortable and the setting is peaceful. It's tranquil, relaxing, and serene. The spa is excellent with plenty of space, and the treatment I received was fantastic. The restaurant is also top-notch, serving delicious food. The staff are very friendly, helpful, and always smiling. You won't regret visiting, and it's a child-free environment too!

The service was friendly and attentive, but the quality of the rooms did not meet the standards expected from a luxury hotel. There was no air conditioning, just a table fan, making the room feel excessively hot. Storage space was inadequate, with only six hangers on a rail and no drawers available. The safe was located on the floor, making it difficult to access. I also noticed mold in the shower and dust under the bed. Additionally, there were no streaming channels available. The restaurant left much to be desired, with slow service and poorly cooked food, and the chef seemed unwilling to address complaints. On a positive note, the spa was well-equipped, although it was quite busy. The gro... Voir le carte

A relaxing and fantastic break. We went for the NYE gala, booked extra treatments and stayed for the 2 whole days due to being able to use the facilities before check in and after check out. Staff were courteous and attentive without being overbearing. The NYE set menu was varied and exquisite with portion size being generous. A buffet breakfast was included and was fresh and warm. Lunch the next day was not included but the menu was reasonable with several choices. The room was clean and spacious enough considering we weren't in it much. The couples deep tissue massage, facial, and Swedish massage left us feeling spoilt and relaxed, one of the best experiences we've had. It was good value f...

Just back from a lovely first stay at Lifehouse and its a beautiful location. The spa itself is awesome, we loved the pool, the large jacuzzi, both the steam and salt steam rooms as well as the sauna and cold plunge pool. The grounds are so pretty and perfect for a daytime or evening stroll. We had a standard double room which had an enormous bed, juliette balcony, large bathroom with walk in shower and large TV. The only downside was no air con. It was 20 degrees outside and about 30 in the room. A small basic fan was provided but it simply wasn't enough. The hotel said they are looking at alternatives and from experience I would strongly suggest a Dyson bladeless fan. We didn't sleep a win...

"We had been to Franco's many times before and loved it, both under the original ownership and the new. However, it seems that it has changed hands yet again and not for the good I'm afraid. Although, judging by the November reviews maybe it is back on track again. I also note that late September/early reviews are similar to ours, which was very poor. In fact we left before the food arrived, mainly due to the extremely poor level of service we received with our drinks. We were out to celebrate my wife's birthday and to start the evening, the four of us all ordered double Gin Tonic's. However, it took 40 minutes for the drinks to arrive. And if if we thought the time taken to bring the drinks was bad, then you can imagine our disappointment when one of the waitresses brought four large dirty glasses with what looked like water in them. No ice, no lemon, and the mixers already poured in the glass, so no way to judge what level of gin we had received. When we asked about the ice and lemon they looked at us in astonishment. We assumed that they had none of neither, otherwise why bring drinks without the basics? It was like they had never worked in a bar/restaurant before and had just wandered in off the street. To make matters worse, they then arrived later with a glass of lemons and a glass of ice. By this stage we could see the evening descending into chaos and we decided to leave. No apology from the staff or questions, they just allowed us to leave and got on with their business. Very off-putting. We decided to try Killocks, which was surprisingly good. Unfortunately, that's another restaurant off the go-to list."
