La Marine - Menu

Bel endroit pour se détendre et regarder le monde passer tout en prenant une bière et en mangeant des moules à la sauce curry avec des frites. Personnel sympathique qui nous a donné du pain supplémentaire pour absorber la sauce. Prix raisonnable.

J'ai déjà mangé ici et l'établissement a maintenu ses normes. Un menu complet avec de nombreux choix de fruits de mer. Agréable de s'asseoir en terrasse et de profiter de la nourriture. Bon service, rapide, efficace et amical. La nourriture était fraîche, savoureuse et raisonnablement.

Had a couple of meals with several friends and overall the food and service were good. Pizzas and mussels were favourites and beef steaks were enjoyable. Even with our group the noise level was very acceptable. Restaurant is clean and presentable and if staying in...area, worth a visit. Value for money was good with reasonable prices.

Nous avons déjeuné tous les trois ici un dimanche. Le restaurant est bien fréquenté à juste titre. Le menu est varié et il y a des plats du jour même le week-end. Les serveurs sont très bons dans ce qu'ils font et leurs yeux sont ouverts... même pour une main légèrement levée pour s'assurer que tout va bien. Il y règne une bonhomie prononcée et une atmosphère détendue. Un sens de l'humour bien développé est tout aussi important. Les portions sont copieuses. J'ai adoré.

We had a couple of hours to wait for the ferry from Ouistreham so having parked up we looked for somewhere for lunch. There are a few restaurants and bars right next to the ferry port entrance and we picked La Marine as it was...right off the car-park. With inside seating and a couple of large outside areas it was ideal. Overall the choice of lunch-time food was very good and the staff were friendly and efficient. Restaurant is clean and bright and worth a visit if you have time to fill.

Comme tout le monde semble le dire ici, nous avons visité cet endroit en attendant le ferry du soir pour Portsmouth. Nous avons mangé dehors car il faisait beau temps, mais avons regretté car la table à côté de nous fumait comme des cheminées, c'était horrible. J'ai pris des huîtres (qui étaient bonnes) mais mes merguez étaient surtout brûlées. Le filet de saumon de ma femme était plein d'arêtes. Les enfants ont pris des pâtes et de la pizza et étaient contents. Je ne peux pas recommander, désolé de le dire.

Just eaten here. We moved inside as the guy next to us assumed we wanted smoked food. Having swiftly been provided with wine and our order taken we were left waiting for ages. Maybe two pizzas is a difficult order to process. Having waited nearly...an hour and seen other later groups enjoying their food we still waited. Having asked a waiter where the food was he eventually brought it out with a cursory apology for the wait. The food was hot and tasty. But wishing to pay they were equally slow in bringing the bill. We went to the bar to get the bill and pay. tip for service.

This is the second time we have eaten here whilst waiting for the ferry. First time was ok but a little slow. This time it took an age to get a menu, my husband was served his meal and my chips arrived but I had...to chase a waiter for my salad which arrived when he had almost finished his and my chips were cold. We then had another interminable wait for the bill after requesting it. My husband's lamb chops were scrawny and mostly bone but tasted ok. My salad had no dressing and was watery. I suppose it proves they wash the lettuce! Good atmosphere and position, large varied menu, perhaps we were just unlucky in our choices. There was no excuse for the wait though.

We chose La Marine to spend a couple of hours as a family of waiting for our overnight ferry back to Portsmouth...and wished we'd gone elsewhere. Having eaten quite a lot while driving through France we weren't that hungry so just ordered a pizza,...moules mariniere and some chips to go with our wine and beer. The waiter didn't seem that happy with our meagre order, although there were plenty of spare tables. Drinks arrived fairly swiftly, unfortunately I can't recommend the white wine and didn't drink much of it in the end. Pizza was good and our boys demolished that fairly swiftly. Sadly the chips never arrived. Then we come to the mussels. I'm not sure what happened but they were definite...
