La Dolce Vita - Carte

This restaurant is hidden behind the marketplace. It has a great menu with lots of choices. The pizza was authentic to when we went to Italy. Worth trying

In summary ok food for an ok price. The kids, being a bit tired of the German food, loved it. Friendly service. Fresh porcini in season, delicious. Good espresso!!

Having struggled to find somewhere for our evening meal on our first night in Freudenstadt, we walked into this restaurant as it looked pleasant and in a pedestrianised road with outside seating. It was full, but the waiter told us to wait and we should...get a table soon. Within 5 minutes we were sat down and being taken care of. Thoroughly enjoyable experience. Great authentic Italian food. I recommend the Calzone.

I was staying in Freudenstadt for two weeks and ate at this restaurant 3 times. That says a lot as I always want to try new things and rarely go back to the same place. I can recommend the pizza (any kind really but the...vegetable was amazing), grilled calamari and spaghtetti or the lasagna. Service is excellent and they have english menus which made ordering easier. Give this place a try one night when you want a change from the traditional German schnitzel pork....you won't regret it! The food looked very good walking by so we stopped. The waiter was perfect, appreciating us trying a bit of German but also understood our English. He didn’t keep bothering us but still made sure we were ok and didn’t need anything extra. The food...was superb!! Spaghetti fruits de Mar and tagliatelle salmon which were both cooked very well and came to the table hot. All other meals going to the tables looked excellent too. We visited La Dolce Vita after hiking in the Black Forest all afternoon, so we came hungry, and dressed rather casually, but we were given the best service, and had a lovely table on the patio. Our kids shared a pizza and spaghetti carbonara (both...great, but not pictured for about 9€/each. My husband had the peppercorn steak, which was fabulous, and I greatly enjoyed my scrumptious, fantastic sea bass with vegetables and potatoes (Gluten/Dairy/Grain free!! Both entrees were about 24€ The location is tucked away from the main Plaza by 2-3 blocks. We ate here with our two small families we were having a relaxing and tasty meal outside when one of our toddlers cut his head open (absolutely nothing to do with the restaurant he was playing a little way away a trifle too...vigorously, as toddlers do). The restaurant helped us immediately and called emergency services which arrived within minutes, helped us get to a hospital, and packed up our meals (and gave the people who didn't rush to the hospital a welcome drink on the house). The food (eaten much later that night, with a toddler's stitched head sleeping soundly in the next room) was fine and would have no doubt been better freshly cooked.
