"New to the area so decided to try the local takeaways, this has been our first and not the best experience for a takeaway to be honest. Firstly the delivery driver was chatting on the phone which is a bit rude. Mixed reviews on the food it self I’ll start with the positives. My lamb starter was pretty tasty although dry. My naan bread was really good and the sauce to my butter meat tikka main was good. My wife’s king prawn curry was also pretty tasty but very watery. Negatives the meat in my curry was ridiculously dry tasteless and chewy after the 4th bit I binned them. My wife’s butterfly prawn starter was just breaded prawns which we found odd and dry. Her naan bread wasn’t the best either. And our popadoms were smashed to bits. We may have caught these guys on a bad night or a busy night but will be definitely trying the others in the area before thinking of giving them another chance."

Starters, mains and sides all still hot and really good quality meat- all dishes at expected level of strength. And on a Friday night was sensible delivery time too.

I've been returning here for over 30 years. There is a wide range of dishes offered. The wonderful range of flavours tell of lots of spices used, not just heat. I think it is the best in Northampton.

The food at this restaurant is fantastic and always tastes authentic. I am never disappointed. The staff and owner are friendly. Even though I live in Kettering, I make sure to stop by this place for my Indian curry fix whenever I come to Northampton. It is truly top-notch!

So so so disappointed. My family have been using kingsthorpe spice for YEARS. But last nights dinner was just terrible. Our neighbour ordered on the same evening and were also not impressed. My curry was 75% water and had 6 small cubes of chicken . Naan bread undercooked. Very few Popadoms considering the money spent. No mango chutney. Took over an hour and a half to come. Just gutted guys, your standard is usually so high!! Voir le carte

"The food at this restaurant is delicious, especially the vegetarian options we tried. The dishes had a great variety of vegetables, unlike other takeaways that mostly use large chunks of potato. The delivery was fast and even arrived earlier than expected. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, they even gave us a 10% discount on our order and included some extra items in the bag. I would definitely recommend this place."

We had a wonderful first experience at Kingsthorpe Spice. We had heard great things about it, so we decided to give it a try. We ordered online and received our delivery fairly quickly, especially for a Saturday night. Our meal included chicken xacuti, saag paneer, tarka dhal, pilau rice, peshwari naan, and meat samosas. We also received a couple of free poppadoms, which was a nice touch. All of the food was delicious and fresh. We highly recommend trying this restaurant.

"I had the pleasure of visiting La Terraza Tapas Bar in Upton with my kids, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The ambiance was incredibly cozy and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a family outing. The friendly staff added to the welcoming atmosphere, making us feel right at home. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the tapas selection. The steak with chimichurri sauce was a burst of flavors that left us craving for more, and the Tempura prawns were simply delectable. It's clear that the chefs here take pride in their creations, as every dish we tried was a delightful journey for the taste buds. As a first-time visitor, I was thoroughly impressed by the overall experience, and I can confidently say it won't be our last visit. While the prices leaned slightly towards the expensive side, the quality of the food and the cozy ambiance more than made up for it. La Terraza Tapas Bar strikes the perfect balance between a gourmet dining experience and a comfortable family outing. I also appreciated the cleanliness of the restaurant, which is always an important factor for me when choosing a place to dine. All in all, La Terraza Tapas Bar offers a fantastic option for a memorable lunch with family or friends. If you're looking for a place that combines delicious food, a warm atmosphere, and a touch of elegance, this is definitely a spot worth considering. AKASAKA Japanese

"I wondered why this restaurant described itself on the board outside as ‘fusion’, why there were so many Korean dishes on the menu and why the serving staff have heard of Asahi beer but haven’t heard of The Asahi Shimbun, a Japanese daily newspaper that is at least 50 years old. The answer is that the Akasaka website isn’t being completely honest when it describes their Northampton branch as a Japanese restaurant. They aren’t really Japanese, although some of their menu items are clearly Japanese. Don’t let that put you off, however, as they are serving excellent food and we enjoyed our meal there very much. It cost us about £70 (inc. 10% tip) for our meal for two people including a 175ml glass of Sauvignon Blanc for my lovely wife and two 330ml bottles of Asahi Dry for me. The sushi was excellent, the edamame beans were great but we didn’t feel that the Dolsot Bibimbap (a Korean dish with loads of rice, some shredded vegetables, prawns and a fried egg on top) offered very good value for money at just under sixteen pounds. We would recommend Akasaka in Northampton and would certainly go there again, but if we want a genuinely Japanese meal, prepared and served by Japanese staff, then we will be sticking to Ginza Restaurant on Wellingborough Road in Northampton. Don’t like the way that the male members of staff at Sakura on Bridge Street speak to their female colleagues, very disrespectful, so we avoid that Japanese restaurant nowadays. Great to have a choice of three Japanese restaurants in Northampton post-pandemic, and our favourite of the three is Ginza."
