"The only downside to this restaurant was the noise level. We were seated at a small table in the middle of the room, which made conversation difficult. However, we loved the creative and tasty Brie bruschetta as an appetizer. The steak we shared was perfectly seasoned and cooked to our liking. Although it wasn't a traditional US cut of beef, we appreciated that it was not corn-fed for environmental reasons. The sticky toffee pudding for dessert was fantastic - warm, moist, but could have used more sauce. The service was attentive as well."

This restaurant is really lovely. The food was delicious, but a bit on the pricey side.

Lovely location, nice ambiance and friendly staff. Good menu choices. Food is good but steaks are quite small. Frozen chips are disappointing. Cocktails not brilliant. Otherwise, very pleasant dining experience. Really nice outdoor area to sit and enjoy Belfast

We had the most amazing meal. I had the steak open sandwich which is the nicest I have ever had. Hubby had crispy prawns. Amazing. Everyone’s meal was excellent. First time here and now will be my go to place. Loved the atmosphere. Staff great. Very welcoming , chatty and helpful.

Three of the four diners had very good meals. The chicken in the curry was dry and chewy. When we sat down we told the server the check would be by couples-she said something about having to do one check for the table. We ended up having to divide the check as we stood at the hostess station. Quite awkward

Clodagh took our order Then the waiter come down with our main course and we stated that we had not got our starter. Then we said it was ok. The waiter offered us a drink on the house and that was fine. Overall after having ate here before and had great experiences before we were disappointed at this visit.

I was meeting up with friends and booked this restaurant again. It was our third visit, food was lovely especially the Beef Daube. The staff were attentive and trained. Everyone enjoyed their meal and experience. The prices had gone up from our last lunchtime visit. We will be back as long as it does not become too expensive (we are pensioners).

At first, I didn't think I would be able to find anything to eat at a steakhouse. However, after reading the menu, I was pleasantly surprised to find a variety of vegan and vegetarian options, as well as plenty of choices for non-vegans. I decided to try the mushroom stroganoff and it was amazing! I used to enjoy stroganoff before I went dairy-free, and this dish did not disappoint. For dessert, I had the chocolate fondant which was also delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I used to think there wouldn't be any options for me at a steakhouse, but I was pleasantly surprised after reading the menu. There were plenty of vegan and vegetarian choices, in addition to options for meat-eaters. The mushroom stroganoff I had was fantastic! I hadn't had it since going dairy-free, but I was thrilled to find it on the menu here and it did not disappoint. For dessert, I enjoyed the chocolate fondant, which was also delicious. Overall, I was very pleased with my dining experience.

"enjoyed our evening in james st it was the best culinary experience of our trip! we had been happy to see this evening as we had a few hit-N-seals in the course of our trip to belfast. we were not disappointed and had the fabulous evening. we were quickly welcomed and sitting. the place is beautiful and spacious. revitalized and environment. the bar is great and would like to come back, only for drinks at the bar sometime. we ordered cocktails immediately. an Irish gin negroni and a traditional old fashion. my neger was absolutely excellent. I think the old fashion could have been done with real sugar cubes and not sugar syrup, but it wasn't too bad. we were quick to choose our wein. we chose a beautiful juicy red, the cline, the old vine zinfandel, 2019. to begin we had the ham hock terrine with piccalilli champ bread and some scallops with boar bell. the hanging-hock court was the best ham-hock I had. the homemade piccalilli was something else. really nice crispy and sharp sharp to help cut through the hammock and the champbrot was delicious crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. the scallops and black bells were disappointing, as they lacked no salt or genuine aroma or texture between them. we still ate it and shared the rest of my hammock. we both decided to go for the co. tyrone 270g fillet steak with sides of champ and truffle parmesan chips. red wine and pfeffer sauce. they were fantastic steaks. Actually, I didn't think I would finish mine, but I did. I have met the right choice with the jus and the truffle chips. they went so well together, the dryness of the parmesan and sweet, slightly greasy of the jus. the steaks were perfectly cooked. a medium and my medium rare. fantastic aroma on the grilled outside of the steak and beautiful texture when they pierce. we both agreed that the champ was the best champ we ever cost. it was hot, soft, so well aromatized with hot butter on the top of the copper serving pot melt. it was really the most incredible champ. I was too full of dessert. but my sample ordered the sticky toffee pudding sundae. the team was friendly enough to make me an espresso martini that was both decaf and not a sugar syrup. it was brilliant. we both managed to work our way, although a surprisingly light sticky toast desserts on Sunday. the team was fantastic. very friendly and chatting to us. the bar team did not stop, I had the pleasure of standing and watching them make a great selection of drinks and cocktails. the waiting staff were also very friendly when they check in with us at comfortable places to ensure that we were in order. we felt very well looked around. the service was very good, we didn't feel any hurry, it felt like such a free time in this restaurant. when we come back to belfast, we will be back in absolute terms and we will definitely recommend others. Thank you."

"I'm an American. I was invited to work at the queen’s university in a global conference. my airline has moved my baggage, so I stopped in the barking dog to use her wlan to check the status of my baggage and have a drink and a snack with my associate who has unusual allergies. the menu had nothing to call us, so we have decided to finish and move only our drinks./ at no point has anyone informed that it is illegal to have only drinks, and our server ran our review without mentioning any legal requirements. After I paid, someone who I suspect, the manager, came to the table and checked our reception. exactly what I thought was what they said before they cheated on me how it is illegal to buy drinks in a restaurant without eating. I apologised and explained that I had no warning. I offered to buy food retroactive and they refused. then they repeated that I was in a restaurant and not in a pub and that my activities were illegal. they denied my multiple attempts to apologise me while I explained that I am not out of the opposite. this experience was very confusing for me, because the night before me had drinks in a restaurant without food and it was no problem. in any case I was told that there is no such law and that the ordering of drinks without eating in a restaurant is very common. I've never been treated so badly in a customer service dynamic and I'm not sure why this happened. I feel targeted and totally mistreated for what does not seem to be a good reason. To finish it, it was my birthday. complete error in the name of what this person was. I will say the rest of the staff was very pleasant and accommodating."
