"Situated at the Niederdorfstrasse 70, in Zurich hardly away from the Limmatquai.. this restaurant and bar is one of the oldest and the best in Zurich. This excellently maintained property with the lovely rustic interiors and the cozy decor takes you back to medieval times. The tap and the draught beer is excellent. There are all the other choices of Swiss beer available. The food is very typically Swiss German with delicious dishes like the Pork Sauerkraut, Pork Ribs or Brustspitz Gemuse, Kalbs-Bratwurst and the Brustspitz Sauerkraut. The warm and the cozy ambience is very enjoyable and comforting, make sure you make a booking before you plan to go, as this place is always full. Dont forget to have a look at the tall 'vaulted' ceiling and the beautiful old murals from the medieval period. You'll have to excuse the service as it seems the restaurant is quite understaffed but I am very sure you will forgive all that once your beer and food is served. Excellent medieval ambience, excellent place to dine and drink with family and friends."
