Beau petit restaurant au cœur de la vieille ville. Belle terrasse jardin qui allait parfaitement avec la nourriture délicieuse. Les propriétaires sont charmants et serviables. Nourriture végétarienne de haute qualité à partir d'un petit menu qui offrait un excellent rapport qualité-prix.

We were pretty late for lunch, which made our menu options limited. But the food was nonetheless very good. The service was good as well. Overall a very welcome veggie restaurant in the centre of the Périgord, where meat seems to be the main component of each meal and finding a veggie lunch spot isn't too easy.Would most definitely return.

Excellent vegetarian restaurant in a region where saying the V word usually means eggs and cheese. Our host (the owner) was gracious and the food reflected a thoughtful approach to vegetarian French cuisine.The menu is limited, but that's good thing -- Izba isn't trying to overreach. It's a small space for now, but I imagine it will catch on with the locals and tourists.

Nous étions assez en retard pour le déjeuner, ce qui limitait nos options de menu. Mais la nourriture était néanmoins très bonne. Le service était bon aussi. Dans l'ensemble, c'est un restaurant végétarien très bien accueilli au centre du Périgord, où la viande semble être la composante principale de chaque... repas et où trouver un endroit pour déjeuner végétarien n'est pas trop facile. J'y retournerais très certainement.

IZBA is situated along a row of fast food restos and you could easily walk past the door without realising how special it is. We've visited IZBA twice for lunch. We ordered from a board with 2 or 3 each of entrees, main courses and desserts. The food comprises imaginative, tasty, vegetarian dishes. It's easily among the best vegetarian cuisine we've found in the region...well anywhere really.Service is a bit bohemian but it is appropriate to the homely atmosphere and the proprietor is super sympa.

Nous nous sommes installés sans réservation, mais le patron a quand même pu nous offrir un déjeuner accueillant composé d'un menu fixe avec 3 entrées, plats principaux et desserts. J'ai commencé avec les bumblebees, qui étaient fantastiques. La salade d'accompagnement était faite de tomates anciennes. Mon plat principal était une courgette farcie aux lentilles accompagnée d'un risotto aux champignons et était exceptionnel. Pas de place pour le dessert, mais le jus de fraise était d'un autre niveau.

A very positive experience. Booked via Facebook, then happened to find ourselves in Perigueux a day early, so popped in and changed our reservation. Very friendly owners, who tolerated our terrible French, and spoke English to aid understanding. We paid €17 for three courses (could have chosen two courses for €14,50, but we were very hungry!) They have a choice of three starters, mains and desserts, one of which is vegan.The food was tasty, inventive, well flavoured and good sized portions. Was pretty busy, probably best to book.Perigueux is lucky to have Izba!

Nous avons eu la chance de visiter Périgueux mardi car le restaurant était fermé depuis 2 semaines après la naissance du bébé du propriétaire, et c'était le premier jour d'ouverture. L'équipe mari et femme est charmante, lui devant la maison et elle le génie de la cuisine. Ouvert uniquement le midi, il propose une formule composée de 2 entrées, 2 plats et 2 desserts. Il n'y a pas besoin de plus, ma femme et moi avons commandé un de chaque plat que nous avons partagé. Chacun était un régal pour les papilles ! Je ne peux pas décrire la nourriture car les recettes sont assez complexes, mais le résultat final est époustouflant. Ne vous attendez pas à une décoration haut de gamme. Ce n'est pas né...

If you are vegetarian eating out can be difficult, particularly in this area of France which is renowned for its meat cuisine. Izba is therefore a great discovery for anyone on a meat free diet. This small restaurant is both vegetarian and organic. The first and most important thing to say that booking is absolutely essential.
