"Our usual place was closed so decided to try out the Shanghai kitchen. Went in and ordered and the food was ready almost immediately (which made me slightly dubious) but still the food was hot so took it home to tuck in. The egg fried rice was beautiful however cutting into the chicken balls they were pink on the inside which is immediately off putting and the chicken in the ‘chicken with cashew nuts’ was barely cooked and slimy. We packed all the food back up and returned it to the takeaway where they refused to give us a refund stating/shouting/arguing the food was cooked fine. The two chefs came out shouting too. Very upset with the service and after 20 minutes finally managed to leave with my refund. Would not recommend unless you’re fond of undercooked chicken and rude staff."

Served me raw chicken in two dishes. Took it back to complain. Lady at the counter understood. Chefs then start shouting at me telling me the food was fine. Clearly not safe to eat here.

The last two times we opted for delivery or takeout from our usual restaurant, it was very slow. This time, it took over two hours, which I understand may be due to the impact of Covid-19 causing them to be busy, but this is unacceptable. Additionally, the food was cold. In all the years we have lived in bedford, takeaways come and go on Tavvers but the Shanghai kitchen remains! The takeaways are always hot and delicious, no matter what we try or decide to stick to, we get them always within 10 mins of ordering (we always walk in and order) and the staff at the desk are always friendly and remember us. No complaints here.

I used to go here to eat good food, so I left and tried some other chinese. After about a year I noticed that I left on the plate due to the taste and lack of food. today decided to try shanghai again, not only was it better than the others it was far superior when I remembered the dishes ozing taste and the curry sauce is the best I ever had in 50 years of Chinese food. will leave her again.

We were told right from when we ordered that it was an extraordinarily busy night for the restaurant and we’d be waiting one and a half hours for the food to be delivered. We loved the honesty, the food was delivered just slightly later than that but was so worth the wait. The hot and sour soup was very hot and very delicious as were the other dishes we ordered. Will definitely be ordering again. Especially good not to have to go through Just Eat to order which has let us down several times. Thank you. Voir le carte

I ordered food for delivery and it arrived 1 hour and 20 minutes late and cold. When I called the restaurant to let them know, they insisted that the food left the kitchen warm. I politely explained that it may have left warm, but it did not arrive warm as I had to reheat it in the oven and microwave. They did not offer to replace the food, take it back, or refund me the £52 I paid, which is a violation of my consumer rights. Instead, they were rude and kept insisting that the food left warm. Poor service, and they have lost me as a customer.

I have ordered from this takeaway several times before, but the meal I had this evening was terrible. It was heavily overwhelmed with chili peppers, which completely masked the flavors of the food. When I contacted the takeaway to discuss my disappointment, I was interrupted and blamed for mixing up the different dishes on my plate. Despite ordering the same dishes from this takeaway weekly for the past year, we were unable to eat any of it due to the extreme spiciness.
