"Went to IKEDA with my girlfriend as she said it the best sushi she tried in London. I can definitely agree with her as the quality of service balanced with food quality. From first step you have a receptionist/manger (I guess, as all regulars were...greeting him) greets you and get you a place when you enter there, you feel welcomed. We set at the bar where sushi chefs were making food (can say it’s was quite impressive as you can see how they making all the pieces step by step) We ordered half bootle of sake, sashimi, octopus, and some more sharing stuff like like tempura veggies. For desert I can recommend you to try wasabi ice cream or mochi ice cream wow. If you remember when you tried sushi for first time with soya sauce and wasabi, and you fell in love with it they manage to reproduce this feeling in my mind. Food quality was gorgeous (not even scared to use this word here) combined with cold sake, it worth stars. The overall bill was about what is reasonable for the food quality and service provided."

I had a fantastic meal. Comforting, yet theatrical. Pricy, but totally worth it.

years of high quality Japanese food and its golden location on Bond st. Ikeda is a well rounded restaurant, great for all types of tradtional dishes, noodles, sushi, stews and grills. Voir le carte

Whenever I fancy tempura, I immediately think of Ikeda. The small restaurant on Brook Street specialises in tempura and katsu, and are also known for their sushi, although I almost always opt for their fried dishes so have only sampled their sushi once. A

I've been looking for good Japanese food in london since I moved here. I had found some places that I liked, like yashin (although they do not allow, soy as they believe that you do not need to eat it) and feed, but they both serve Japanese food with a whirl. I prefer traditional, no ruffle japanese, where they focus on the quality of the fish in contrast to the ambiente or innovative and chic sushi. after two years, ikeda filled the empty!

I have been looking for good Japanese food in London since I moved here. I had found some places I liked, such as Yashin (though they don’t allow soy as they believe their food doesn’t need it), and Dinings, but they both serve Japanese food with a twist. I prefer traditional, no frills Japanese where they focus on quality of fish as opposed to ambiance or making innovative and fancy sushi. After two years, Ikeda filled the void! Delicious and traditional Japanese food in a no frills setting. Voir le carte

if I bless traditional style nigiri in london, this is a place I like to come. the selection is impressive, the sushi is really well done and the fish is as fresh as possible. they actually use the same suppliers as the araki my previous visits were just to get my sushi fix so I still try to align their selection on hot and cold. the menu looks great, however, and carries many of my Japanese favorites, as well as a constantly changing collection of interesting seasonal plates (I saw seared kama toro in this week decor is minimal and there is no background music, but I have this on Japanese minimalism in contrast to restaurants in a boring environment. "The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
