Hurdlemakers Arms - Carte

Okay drinks but please can your staff refrain from getting drunk and aggressively screaming/grinding your backside against my 50 year old husband. Needless to say, it does not make for very good customer service. No means no.

I recently had Sunday lunch at this restaurant. The roast lamb, fresh vegetables, and roast potatoes were all fabulous. The portions were huge, the food was piping hot, and I couldn't find any faults. It was really good value for the price.

Excellent pub food cooked freshly. Service is prompt and attentive. As the food is cooked freshly there is a little wait but this is more than worthwhile. The menu is quite extensive and reasonably priced. The pub is well decorated and comfortable, especially as those sticky tables have been replaced. Voir le carte

Great food, well cooked and super generous portions. Lovely setting also, and local, what’s not to like ! Service was excellent, and although we expected a wait, food was delivered in a timely fashion on hot plates Another win! Shall be making this a regular visit and thank the staff for their friendly and excellent service.

Amazing food in a lovely little 400 year old pub…. I had the steak and kidney pie with mash and peas and it beautiful, such large portions that I couldn’t finish it all. My friends had the hurdlemarker burger and the ribs. The portion size are massive and great quality at really reasonable prices. I will definitely be back to visit this little hidden gem.

Myself and four friends went for an evening meal Thursday evening. All my friends enjoyed the food. 2 of us had a steak and it was cooked just perfectly. Only point to raise is that the food takes a while to come out as it is cooked fresh. So please be aware if busy you might wait almost an hr before getting your meal depending on party size. But while you wait enjoy the pubs ambience and quaintness and their real ale. Lovely night thank you. Voir le carte

Our first visit to this hidden gem. Service was excellent both at the bar and the food service. As it was Friday I had cod chips and mushy peas, absolutely delicious and generous portions! My wife had ribs sauté potatoes with a side salad! The meat fell off the ribs easily and was flavoursome served with a barbecue sauce! Good choice of beers too. We were too full for a pudding but we were very happy with our experience and we will definitely be back! Highly recommended.

We had a reservation for a late table and even though the restaurant was very busy, we were warmly welcomed by the owner. She even provided some games to keep my toddler entertained while we waited for our table to become available. It's a very family-friendly place. The pub is charming with a variety of delicious options on the menu, all served in generous portions. Despite some staffing challenges, the team managed well. It's no surprise that this place has received numerous awards. Thank you for taking care of us! We will definitely return!

Our third visit to The Hurdlemakers Arms and this short review will tell you all you need to know........It is simply the best pub food we have ever had !!!!!!..a proper chef as we found out, I am 70 years old and have been to loads of great pubs but the food here is above the lot, big portions yes, plenty of everything yes, great selection of vegetables yes and a great selection of meat and fish which again is plentiful.......you will not find a better place to eat so give it a try....thank you all at The Hurdlemakers Arms.......you have got it BANG ON !!!!!!..........WONDERFUL !!!!!!
