Howard's Fish And Grill

Have had a number of takeaways and been very satisfied but recently ordered skate and it was very small with hardly any fish and thick, hard batter. Not happy at all.

Was really looking forward to dinner tonight but unfortunately it was awful, the chips were very oily and the sausage in batter was very soggy! Such a shame but lovely staff.

Ordered a takeaway, really looking forward to it. When it came chips really oily. Cod was really oily and really over cooked. I right let down, paid £29 for the oily over cooked experience Voir le carte

I ordered fish and chips for delivery with my family and I can honestly say I think it’s some of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had! It was delivered quickly, everything was piping hot and tasted incredible! Can’t wait to be back!!

Part of our order was omitted on collection however Howard’s immediately delivered to our home address along with an apology and a voucher for our next visit. That is old school customer service that goes a long way in our eyes and they will remain our go to fish and chip shop. Well done Howard’s!

Come here fairly often and tge cod and chips are wi detail. My daughter always has a plain cheeseburger but this time someone added ketchup and she couldn't eat it so that was disappointing and why I haven't given 5 stars. I didn't bother to call but maybe I should have. Previously tried the onion and just soggy. Voir le carte

This has always been our local favourite however on the last 2 occasions the take away has not been good. The first time put it down to a one off, did pre order so perhaps just busy! This week , on a Wednesday and just for 2 of us we fancied a favourite. So very disappointing! Fish overcooked and tasteless, fish dry and skin was like rubber!? We used ti clear our plates, batter light and crispy but not now? Dont know what has gone wrong but so not good...chips not as good either, undercooked if anything. Sorry, wont be coming back for more.

First time of using this place as our closer chip shop closed and didn’t fancy next one along so came here and are we glad we did. I always have had scampi for years and this is definitely the best yet and big portion too. The chips were the best cooked in a very clean oil and lots crispy bits amongst the wonderful chips and now we will continue to use this place as our favorite without a doubt. Not the cheapest but to be honest I think all fast foods have gone up. We had a very large cod, scampi, large chips, curry sauce and mushy peas and cost £24 and for the quality we would go here always

Howard’s are simply the best fish and chips in the area by far. Even though there are two others on the same road, it’s Howard’s that always has the queues and it’s easy to see why. Their chips, especially, are outstanding cooked in an oil that leaves the chips slightly crispy and clean rather than greasy and oily. The taste is phenomenal. Their fish is similarly generously sized and tastes amazing. I tried the grilled chicken on this occasion and it really was half a chicken, cooked beautifully. Howard’s isn’t the cheapest (a medium cod will cost you £9) but it’s a rare treat and worth waiting for. Voir le carte
