"My partner and I stopped at the Douglas for a late lunch on the 15 July 2023 , we picked out eats from the board on the wall ,we both selected starter Lamb Terraine and chutney followed by haddock and chips, the lamb Terraine arrived and we both delved in, many times in other establishments we have enjoyed this dish, how disappointed we were,what arrived with the chutney resembled a square block of peat, it totally had no taste resembling lamb we both have still to establish a taste at all, the most horrible excuse for a lamb Terraine, the chef had us totally confused to what we where eating ,by the time we decided to complain the fish and.chips had arrived, absolutely gorgeous and excellently presented, I just hope this was a blip in the Douglas as this was the first time we ate this starter??? ,We passed this information to the young lady who served us and asked this to be passed onto the chef she said she would , we got no response I tried to contact the complaints on the website unfortunately there is no facility on the site to publicise a review, as we are regular patrons to the Douglas please management tell me this was a blip and won't be repeated."

"As soon as we walked into the restaurant, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The customer service was brilliant and quick! We ordered: Starters: Crispy squid Steam Scottish mussels Mains: Spiced lamb kebabs 10z ribeye (swapped chips for Pak Choi) Side: Prawns The food was absolutely delicious!! Everything was cooked to absolute perfection and all the meat was so unbelievably soft! The atmosphere in here is lovely! And a hint of luxury."

"I can't thank Meg, Serge, and the team at the Lamlash Bay Hotel enough! We had a large family gathering over the weekend, and the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. I'd also like to commend them for their excellent service during breakfast and for our fantastic family dinner on Saturday night—it was absolutely delicious. A special shoutout to Kath at the hotel for baking a cake for our celebrations. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone, and I hope to return one day to this wonderful place and establishment."

"Went here based on happy cow saying it had vegan cheese for the pizza. No offer of vegan cheese and nothing on the menu so had cheeseless pizza instead. Pizza was nice enough without cheese but not what we were expecting to have going by recent reviews. After pizza we decided to get some ice cream- two vegan flavours so we asked for tub of the vegan strawberry each. The person serving us stuffed a wafer in it so i asked are the wafers vegan to which the server let out a massive sigh and rolled her eyes saying she would ask. When she went to ask she stormed off and was clearly annoyed. The waffers are not vegan as I suspected but no reason to make us feel like an annoyance when you are offering vegan ice cream it shouldn’t be a surprise when your asked if other items are vegan."
