"My wife and I had heard great things about the food at this restaurant, so we decided to share the ploughman's meal. When our food arrived, we were blown away by the amount and variety of items included. It was more than enough for both of us. The staff, especially the lady who served us, were incredibly friendly. The food was delicious and we will definitely be coming back. The fact that there is parking right behind the pub was an added bonus. Thank you to the entire staff for making our weekend so special."

This place is brilliant. Not tried the food but it looks great. Happily spent an afternoon with a beer and the juke box. Definitely worth a visit.

This is one of the most unique pubs I have ever visited. It is a fantastic place with a lovely atmosphere and serves great pints. I will definitely be coming back again.

Great Place, love it, oldest pub in the Lakes, plenty of seating area outside as they don't allow dogs any more, which is understandable as it gets that busy and their paws would get stood on

This was a lovely traditional pub that was tucked away behind the Main Street. We just called in for drinks so did not try the food but the bar staff were very friendly and the drinks were good. There was plenty to look at in the pub which made it quite unique

For many years this is my go to pub in Bowness. Arrived today on a damp day to find dogs not welcome inside. Sat outside and had a half for old times sake but wasn 't going to order food. A family with a dog arrived whilst we were there and left when they saw the 'No dogs ' sign. You 're losing business guys? Voir le carte

We visited this restaurant based on a recommendation from the owner of the bed and breakfast we were staying at. The live music on Friday night was fantastic, the pub had a great atmosphere, and the staff were excellent. The three musicians who performed were absolutely brilliant and really made our evening special. We also tried the food, including the steak pie and nachos, which were delicious. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Tucked away in the centre of Bowness on Windermere you will find the Hole In T’Wall. A lovely, character pub, with centuries of history. A wide range of meals drinks are available for you to enjoy both inside or in the front beer garden. We enjoyed the Ploughman’s Lunch, one of my favourites, but if you have only a small appetite, you might want to consider sharing as it is vast! Thoroughly enjoyable with a variety of pickles, cheeses, pork pie, ham, salad apple … Enjoy!

"We were sure to book ahead for a table of 4 for 5.15 as it was a late Sunday roast we were fully aware that not everything would be available so it was no surprise when we were told that there was only gammon left for the roast option however there was still fish and chips homemade steak pie or vegetable lasagne. We happily opted for 3 gammon roast dinners and a homemade steak pie with mash (you get the choice of which potato you'd like) The food arrived piping hot with plenty of everything and it was so so tasty you could really tell everything was lovingly made from scratch for the roast the potatoes came both roasted and mashed with cauliflower, broccoli and carrot and swede mash. A generous helping of gammon and a large Yorkshire pudding with gravy that was clearly made with the juices as it was so flavourful. The steak pie was brilliant too homemade with large chunks of steak and a choice of potato and whether you'd like the same veg as that with the roast or with peas. This also came with gravy. For dessert there was a choice of either chocolate fudge cake, caramel apple pie or sticky toffee pudding and you had the choice of either cream, ice cream or custard. 2 of us got it with custard and 2 of us got it with ice cream and it wasn't overbearingly sweet it was perfect with a delicious caramel top! We all thoroughly enjoyed all the food and the drinks and service and will be back again one day if we find ourselves holidaying here again"
