"After visiting many times previously (up till covid times i think) we were so disappointed today in our visit. We had travelled a good way to get there and immediately could tell it was run differently. No gift shop, no hot food after 2. Latte was pipping hot however it is definitely not a cafe a tea shop yes. We couldn't have hot food (as after 2) But waitress came out about 3 with a lovely sausage sandwich. Next customer asked for a scone was told there weren't any Next customer asked for a cold can and there were none out. We were only there 30 mins and that was 3 sets of customers who couldn't have what they wanted. No thank you when we left despite 3 girls behind the counter and hardly any customers. I do hope we caught you on a very bad day as I feel sadly your business will struggle as there won't be return business."

the owner was incredibly friendly, the service first rate and to camouflage it the best bakewell we ever had. opened early, when he expected us, all that and with a view of the dead, worth a visit, not disappointed and we traveled from lincoln.

a cuppa with view! very expensive, expect to pay tourist prices. they do not give empty tassen with a cup of tea that is a little strange, but apparently many places do this today. best to get there before 3 o'clock if they don't want to miss it.

Please, give the new family oriented owners a chance. Yes, things have changed, for the better! Open 7, repeat SEVEN days a week serving delicious home made produce with a lovely smile. Love what you’ve doing, and you deserve to do well. All the best!

Enjoyable experience at the wonderfully located Hobbs cafe. Super cottage very tastefully decorated. Good tea and scones/ scones, with great ambience and friendly owners/staff. Absolutely love their resident Spaniel ... what an absolute sweety! Small craft shop with lots of nice cards and a small selection of gifts.

Perfect place for rest and refuelling after @Monsal Head walk/hiking/biking, great coffee and homemade cakes, locally sourced lunch/dinner meals. Two car parks (don't forget loose change as parkomats coins only, 1.50£/hour). Ideal spot for people with restricted moving as straight from car you can spend hours watching valley bellow. Been here many times and will back as never get bored. And just short drive to Bakewell

Hobb's cafe overlooksa wonderful panorama and has quite a history of providing refreshment at Monsal Head now primarily to cyclists and walkers on the Monsal Trail up to 8.5 miles between Bakewell and Wye Dale) and a number of other routes. It previously served to house those overseeing the building of the railway on that route, then an estate gamekeeper lived there. It now provides home made lunches and teas including oatcake and quiche with great filling flavours. It also hosts a small art and craft gift shop with a wide range of cards, some local maps souvenirs and a range of good quality gifts. A lovely place to visit, even if you're not on one of the many footpaths and bridleways that c...
