High Street Cafe - Carte

The Hideaway cafe ticks all the boxes! Was staying in an AirBnB right by the cafe and so popped in more then once for breakfast! Excellent for cleanliness, friendliness and tasty food and drinks.

Not a lot open in swanage at end of January! This little cafe served great coffee. One of us had menemen voted very good. Feta and tomato toastie was ok. Very friendly couple running it. Fresh made Coffee was great.

Called in for a breakfast and pleased we did. Decent menu options, good coffee and reasonable prices. Food was well presented and good quality, little things like branded sauces not cheap alternatives make a difference. Voir le carte

Stopped for breakfast. Busy when we arrived, but still tables free, we had all day breakfast and an English breakfast both were nice. Accompanied with tea and Turkish coffee, both nice. Cooked well and good service too. Recommended.

We loved it here. A very welcoming café with great staff. Plenty of options that you’d find in an English café with some fabulous Turkish choices too. Very reasonable prices and good service. We were so pleased that we found this place.

Popped in to grab a snack while we were walking around the town. Good friendly service, and couldn’t fault the lunch prices. (Toastie was very nice) Very good value the chap running the cafe could not have been friendlier. Ting cafe in the middle of the high street so honestly expected middle of the road here. Nothing could be further from the truth!! Turkish owners are lovely and welcoming,however the true gem here is the girl with dyed hair who literally does everything!! Been there 3 times this week as this girl is a whizz on the coffee machine for a start it is by far the best in Swanage) but through our visits we saw her under pressure but cooking,cleaning,serving,washing up and she clearly knew how to cater for customers with additional needs without question,thats a special gift and then giving all customers the same level of attention.... she's a gem and far far better than what we remember from last y...

I happened upon this cafe with my parents just after midday during the week. It was quiet but so was the town and they had a board outside advertising kofte and chicken with rice and salad, but also breakfast. It intrigued me enough to go in. My parents are steadfast traditionalists when it comes to breakfast and they both had a ‘full English’ albeit one of the vegetarian. The breakfasts were fresh, large and very well cooked, they both enjoyed them a lot and will be back! I had the menemen eggs which were fantastic. Served in a cast iron skillet, scrambled eggs with tomatoes, peppers, and a little bit of fresh chilli served with a warm baguette, it was delicious! Brilliant cafe and will def...

Having just arrived in Swanage we were getting our bearings and also looking for a bit of lunch. We know some of the restaurants from previous visits, but had never noticed this one. We sat at one of the two outside tables, which is a bit close to the road but OK if the traffic is not too busy. The staff were friendly and welcoming and soon took our order. My wife had a Tuna Mayonnaise jacket potato and I had the Kofte. My wife said that the potato was good and I thought that the Kofte was excellent. It was served with rice and salad, which included a whole small grilled pepper, baby tomatoes and mushrooms. It was very nicely presented and very tasty. Just wish we had had room for some Bakla...
