"Visited today for the first time. Arrived just after opening and found a table. Dog friendly which is great for us. Good choice on the menu. We had to order our drinks first even though we were ready to order our food too. We then ordered the full works breakfast. Food was nice and plentiful. Service was friendly but we waited about 40 mins for the breakfast to arrive, by then we had drank our hot drinks. As I said the food was nice but we would if enjoyed it more had we not been rushing to finish as we needed to leave to collect our son."

"We visited during The Open mid July 2023 and ate from the special Golfers’ 2 course menu. I had the pork dish while my husband had the slow roasted lamb. Both were beautifully presented as well as delicious and served with seasonal vegetables cooked to perfection. Homemade bread and butter pudding and baked Alaska followed; both were the best we’ve ever tasted! We were told that this place is all about the food and indeed, the food wouldn’t have been out of place in a Michelin starred restaurant. The service did not disappoint either. Julian and Jackie are a fab team. Yes, the decor/ambiance could maybe do with a tweak or two but this place is a hidden gem on The Wirral and great value for money."

"Attended a 40th wedding anniversary party that rented out the entire restaurant. The food was incredibly delicious, with starter, main course, and dessert that were all outstanding. If you are looking for high-quality food, this is the place to go. You will not be disappointed. The service, ambiance, and overall experience all received top ratings. "Went today for a little late lunch And whilst we got what we ordered I wouldn’t rate this establishment much higher than average Ordered a BLT and got literally a BLT on an oval plate no side salad no crisps nothing And a chicken burger on a side plate The side order order Of chips for £4 was ??????????? Totally Embarrassing Got about 12 Chips in a peanut size bowl (small chips at that) Tea for two was tea for two usually get more than two cups out of a teapot But not this teapot literally got 3 small cups out of it and at the price of it (feel robbed) Would I come back is always something I ask myself (look at previous reviews) Well this Is categorically a BIG no In todays modern society They need to up their game and provide a good service and better food There’s better, much better places to eat in WK In fact so much better this place would rank low At a reasonable price £23.50 for not a lot wasn’t good value Seriously up,your game I hate to knock local business because in todays world it’s hard but please take a look at local competitors and up your game don’t rip off your customers with average cuisine Parkgate tea rooms is so much better and cheaper Sadly didn’t go there today Lesson learnt"
