"It was my first visit to a Harry Ramsden's restaurant and, after my husband telling me so much about the original, I was expecting so much more. Having seen the outside of the building, I was expecting much more from the decoration which was less than basic with only plush upholstery as any attempt to be more than that. However, it was a fish and chip restaurant so, perhaps, I was expecting so much but missing and cracked tiles in the loos was not really acceptable especially in these times when hygiene is more important than ever. The presentation of the food also left a great deal to be desired. The food appeared to have been just thrown onto the plates and my husband fish were broken into two pieces. Having said that,. I am sure that the fish was fresh rather than frozen and it was very tasty. The chips were so-so. Serving the bread and butter in a plastic basket was next to useless. How you re meant to butter bread in a basket is a mystery to me. Was a side plate too much to ask for? When we are in Eastbourne again [and we have booked for next year] we shall find an independent fish and chip shop to try."

The staff were friendly and helpful! The fish was delicious and never had such lovely mushy peas! I had a Pimms drink that was the best one I have had in a long time!

the restaurant had a lot of space as I booked in advance. Rather, it was surprising to order and pay in advance. eating was good, but typical fish and chips. personal pleasant.

All the food was luke warm and poor quality. For a so called major chain it was extremely disappointing and we will not eat there again. It must rely on it’s sea front position for customers

Its was expensive fot what it was basic tables with chair very cold they had tried with the halloween decorations but alittle basic The children's menu needed a few more items on it but over all ok

very quiet on a Tuesday early evening. the complete menu was not available, but the waitress explained possible alternatives. the food was excellent and the service was as fast as possible as it had to be cooked. very pleased. Voir le carte

The restaurant was extremely clean and the staff welcoming, with a choice of sizes of meal, which was excellent for our mixed age family group. The food took a little while to come as it was obviously cooked fresh, and it was delicious.

the table was booked online and next to the window that the restaurant looks over the sea. it was very quiet only 2 other tables occupied so lacking in atmosphere we had regular cod and chips as well as puddings of eton mess, which was good, but the brot and the butter pudding was hidden by the custard that felt like heated in a microwave. personal friendly and the tables were clean
