Bulkeley Bistro - Carte

Everything was very tasty. Menai mussels a little disapointing.(starter) Otherwise an exellent meal for everyone.

Booked last minute. Very nice meal. Steak was delicious. Would visit again when in the area. Staff were friendly and polite.

Food was good but waiter did not know what blue steak was and when it turned up it was medium rare. Otherwise a very enjoyable meal. Voir le carte

Evening meal was OK. Just went for the steak, so nothing too ambitious. Attentive service but let down by a rather tired room. Out of season visit so very few diners. Prices were OK.

A quaint bistro with friendly staff and a good location. Menu was good although I was taken aback by the ceaser salad having smoked chicken which purvaded all other flavours. Overall it was a lovely night out.

We made a reservation for Sunday dinner, but when we arrived, our name was not on the restaurant's list. Despite many available tables, we were seated and received good service and food. However, we were surprised to find out that tea/coffee was not included in the price as indicated on the menu. The waitress explained it was an additional charge, which left a negative impression on our overall experience. It seems like the restaurant's management may need to review their menus more carefully to prevent future misunderstandings with customers. Voir le carte

The table I had booked well in advance was not ready for us and we were shown to a table for 4 (I booked for 5) and told it was all you had despite the restaurant being empty. I felt the food lacked imagination, the boiled potatoes were hard and there was very little sauce on any of our meals. The service was generally fine and the waitresses were very helpful, though a little inexperienced. We all really enjoyed the desserts. It was a special occasion for us my son's graduation and although your hotel is lovely in an ideal location, we were disappointed with the food.

SHOCKING TREATMENT Booked table for 6.45, arrived and Bistro empty. Ordered our drinks from the bar and told a man behind the bar that we had booked a table for 6.45. He said that we had not booked as not on the list. And even if we had there was a coach party in the restaurant and there was a 60 minute wait before we could order any food as tge kitchen was very busy. He went to the office to check if we had booked and in the meantime I showed him the email confirmation. When eventually he found our booking he said we should have been told there was a wait for food. We found the staff to be rude and not abit helpful so we left and went elsewhere. The restaurant is set in a beautiful building and we had a window table overlooking the bay and the mountains beyond. So far so good. We had looked at the a la carte menu before we went and we were looking forward to our meal. Unfortunately it was a Sunday and they only serve the Sunday lunch menu all day on a Sunday. It did not say that on the Opentable menu listing. But that was okay we like a roast dinner. The starters of fishcake and ham hock terrine were fine without being noticeably good.
