We attended a function in the ballroom, the buffet was lovely. We ate in the bar the following evening, the lamb curry was delicious, my husband's gammon was a little disappointing, but his starter of King Prawns was lovely.

The location of this restaurant is fantastic, offering stunning sunset views of the sea. The staff are outstanding and the food is excellent - I have no complaints and will definitely be returning. Thank you to everyone involved.

it used to be a cavery but owing to covid table service. we had much smaller plates than what we had with the cavery. the service was shocking . the waitress would bring some of the veg then wait for up to 5mins for more . then we had to chase her up no gravy .when we ate the main course took nearly 30mins to order the sweet.i thought for for main course priced at £16-95 is a bit overpriced. and all sweets £6 .i had a fruit trifle not much fruit in it . all in all not worth the money

I wish I had read the reviews before making a reservation. The food was disappointing, with both dinner and breakfast being below average. There was a long wait for the breakfast buffet to be replenished. Some of the condiments sachets on the tables were two months expired! I ordered the scampi, but it was small pieces surrounded by a lot of breadcrumbs that were greasy. It seems like the kitchen heavily relies on deep fat fryer and microwave. Overall, it was a bad experience - expensive and not worth repeating.

A group of six key workers arrived at the restaurant excited for an afternoon tea after a long day at work. We were told that the price was £16.95 each for a large afternoon tea with chips. However, when it arrived, we were shocked to see that all we received was what was pictured. When we asked about the missing items, we were informed that this was all they typically serve. To make matters worse, one of the sandwiches had a hair in it and there were no chips as promised. We were charged a total of £101.70 for the disappointing meal and ultimately refused to pay, choosing to leave instead.

We stayed here overnight at a weekend and after a few drinks in the bar we decided we didn’t want to search the town for somewhere to eat. Reception told us that we didn’t need to book but there was a large party due to eat at 7:30pm. We were the first ones in the restaurant and got to have a lovely sea view. I had the sirloin steak with all the trimmings which was absolutely beautiful, there was so much I couldn’t finish it. My partner had the gammon steak and only just managed to finish it. The restaurant got busier the longer we were there and the staff were really lovely. Would eat there again if staying as it’s really convenient and good quality.

Omg ! We booked a family room , when we arrived at the hotel there was a awful stench of sweat ! We went DOWN INTO THE BASEMENT to our room it was rancid ! ! The floor was covered in fluff , dust , food , hairs .. there was crisps and food crumbs all over the children’s beds , the beds felt DAMP , there was on old decrepit looking sofa plonked against the wall which I would not have even let my dog sit on never mind my family ! The curtains were about to fall down were filthy , there was hair all over the bathroom , excrement marks in the toilet , it’s beyond me how on this planet this disgusting dirty rancid hell hole is allowed to be open to the public ! We left immediately with our refund...

Where do I begin. I booked a night for my wife and I for one evening as the Marine advertised itself as having Spa facilities and believing it to be one of the fine hotels in town. How wrong we were! The front facade of the hotel appears very grand but that disappears the deeper into the premises you go. Beyond the reception, the floors were comically uneven and appeared to have a mind of their own. There was a strange smell in the corridors on route to our room unable to make out what it was. The room at first sight appeared pleasant having a sea view, however the facade soon diminished as there was no double glazing and the window was covered in condensation thus eliminating that sea view....

Booked table for Sunday lunch and was expecting usual high standard of food and service. Unfortunately this wasn't the case at all. They were only doing a bar menu which was fine as it did have a roast option but the roast alone was £16.95 per head. The meat was ok but the roasties were deep fried, the amount of mash was so small we eventually found it hiding under the yorkshire, all the veg appeared to be frozen. When you're being charged that much you expect more than frozen peas, carrots and broccoli. We had to send the califlower cheese back as it had no sauce or cheese on it!
