Very nice, traditional Grotto near Lugano. Tasty food, local style! Enjoy a wonderful Polenta or Risotto with some delicious meat and vegetables. Veg offers are also available. Friendly staff all over. Cost/benefit ratio above average in Malcantone. Definitely worth a visit! Reservation recommended!

Grotto del' Ortiga is a restaurant for locals and people looking for a place out of the ordinary. This is an old farmhouse hidden in the village of Manno (in the western Lugano area). Meals are served in several rooms and al fresco in the patio. Dinner is almost family style. Excellent simple traditional local food one does not often find in normal restaurants and good local wines. Try involitinis (meat wraps), brasato (roast with gravy), polenta (maize or corn), and grape sorbet. Reservations recommended. Fair prices. Leave your car in the village underground garage and walk 5 minutes thru the old village. Use GPS and ask a pedestrian if you cannot find it. Voir le carte
