"We visited a local village pub on a busy Friday night. After waiting about 5 minutes to be served at the bar, we ordered drinks. Surprisingly, while my daughter (who is nearly 21) was not asked for ID initially, a bartender later approached her requesting identification. Although I understand the challenge 25 policy, I would have preferred if they had asked for her ID at the point of sale to avoid drawing attention in the crowded pub. I hope this was not connected to our being the only people of color present. Despite this incident, we have previously enjoyed drinks and lunch at this pub and plan to return. The atmosphere was pleasant and the evening food looked enticing. We look forward to returning for dinner soon."

"There was a slight wait between our starters and main courses, but to be fair, the restaurant was very busy at the time. However, the wait was definitely worth it. Miller and Carter are well-known for their steak, and I can see why—my rump steak was cooked to perfection. I began my meal with a bowl of carrot soup, which was hot and delicious. I hadn't initially planned to order it, but our server recommended it, and I was glad I took their advice. For dessert, I had the apple and rhubarb crumble with custard, which was simply divine. I highly recommend this restaurant!"

"Came for my mother's 65th birthday on Thursday evening and wow I was very impressed with the pub what a gorgeous place, we was greater by Donna who was fantastic very engaging and down to earth. We all had starters black pudding stack mushrooms fishcake and prawn cocktail for the birthday girl she was very impressed with the amount if prawns, my Stilton mushrooms where unreal I had a ribeye for main which again was unreal cooked to perfection. The kids had chips cheese and gravy and loved every bit with ice cream after. Unfortunately we never had any room left for dessert but will deffo be back for the famous roast they do and hopefully fit a dessert in then."

"Dog friendly pub area with a lovely fireplace. The food was great! We had pea and ham soup as starter, which was hearty and yum (with a little kick which was great for a cold day). The lamb was really delicious and generous in portion too. The chicken satay was delicious as well, nice spicy, and the homemade satay sauce was good (not authentic but good enough). Crispy beef was deliciously sticky. There is a lot of chicken in the Chicken Cesar salad, lovely and moist meat which was given a garlic herb rub, really delicious. The service was fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble, friendly and attentive staff. All and all, two thumbs up!"
