"We were staying nearby at the Schloss Egg and decided to drive to Deggendorf for dinner. After a brief walk through the central pedestrian only downtown core, we settled on this lovely little restaurant, Goldener Engel (Golden Angel). The menu was only in German, and...the staff spoke very little English and my German is sub-par, but we were able to communicate enough to ask the waiter to bring us some traditional Bavarian dishes that he recommended. After we sipped some local red wine and a nice local Moos Ale, our waiter presented us with a hearty portion of Schnitzel Bratkartoffeln and some very tasty Bratwurst. We had a great meal and it was incredibly tasty and savoury. The total for our meal was Euro. You'll definitely want to check out this place if you are looking for traditional Bavarian food in Deggendorf."

Von außen eher unscheinbar, aber innen ein unglaublich uriger Gasthof mit altem Gewölbe. Aufmerksamer tschechische Kellner, süffiges Dunkelbier, Wochenkarte mit alten Traditionsgerichten wie Klöße mit Entenbraten gefüllt auf Blaukraut mit Röstzwiebeln. Bayrische trifft Böhmische Küche, das beste Sickowa( Rinderfilet in Sahnesauce) und Lowitschen mit Powidl. Absoluter Geheimtipp und gerne mehr als diese 5 Sterne !

Good- though not for the tourist. No English or menus in English. We had a very good dinner- but had to pick by what we could self translate and Bc menu uses a cursive it was hard to translate. Price is ok- people but with too many leftovers.... share courses. Felt authentic and the atmosphere was excellent. Glad we tried, but wish we could have known more about our options- felt like we missed out. Service ok- one wait for us all. Food did come out hot and great quality!!
