"After hearing great reviews about the food, we decided to drive to this restaurant for some mid-morning coffee. We were pleasantly surprised by the huge and delicious scones and the welcoming staff. After taking a walk around the estate and enjoying the superb views, we decided to stay for lunch as well. I tried the Highland cattle burger and my husband had the beef sandwich, both of which were equally tasty. We also purchased some lamb curry and steaks to take home, which were high quality and very tender. Everything was home-produced by the farm. We would definitely come back for another visit and would frequent this restaurant regularly if we lived nearby."

The restaurant offers a great variety of delicious soups, salads, and sandwiches that are very flavorful and filling. They also have beautiful cakes and desserts, though we did not try them.

Roast beef sandwiches with Glengorm beef, ham salad and scotch broth with Glengorm lamb. All thoroughly enjoyable. Just perfect after a walk to Dun Ara. Friendly staff. Nice deli inside. Dog friendly.

The service at this restaurant was fantastic! The cakes were absolutely amazing and the lunches were delicious. The prices were very reasonable as well. And I have to say, the scones were probably the best I've ever had!

What a little gem tucked away in the shadow of Glengorm Castle. Amazing selection of cakes (many GF), I was spoilt for choice. Nice coffee too. Loved the quirky highland cow milk jug. Lovely place with stunning scenery a short walk away. Voir le carte

This restaurant is a great choice for lunch. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food is excellent, especially the soup and sandwich combo, which is a good deal and very satisfying. I can't get the delicious lentil and lamb soup out of my mind!

As a local, so happy that this establishment is open for the season. Food is always to a high standard, and all home-made. Not a huge menu, but everything is always delicious. Staff attentive and friendly. And the prospect of a great walk round Glengorm Estate is definitely a big attraction.

Wow! What a fabulous cafe! I had the amazingly delicious seafood salad and it really was the best seafood salad I’ve had. Really good smoked trout and smoked salmon. Yum yum. The rest of the family had soup, sandwiches and steak pie. All very happy. It was very busy when we arrived, but service was prompt and extremely friendly!! Can’t wait to go back! Voir le carte

Bought 2 coffees £5.20) and 2 pieces of cake and charged £25.20. When I queried it was told the billed one piece of cake twice and give £5 back which means other cake cost £10. I suspect they billed me for someone else sat on table as well but either way I was made to feel I was being unreasonable. Food was good quality but I have a sour taste in my mouth...

We called in here today for a light lunch and we were not disappointed. I had the tomato and basil soup and my wife had the celery, leek and blue cheese soup, both were absolutely spot on, served up with a nice slice of crusty bread and real butter. We also had a piece of their homemade tea loaf and chocolate cake and once again these were spot on. The prices were very reasonable and the staff extremely friendly. We would definitely call in here again.

"On our last day here, killing time before the ferry, decided to try luncheon here. No expectations either way. And we were TOTALLY wowed it was just excellent. Trying not to put too many superlatives in this review, but it was really, really ace. We had a lovely table by the window overlooking the harbour where you could see dog walkers, children in wellies, crabbing, and little boats coming and going. Classic Islay. Then I have to mention the food. Jeez, it was top notch, and huuuuuuuge portions. I don’t think we’ve ever had four such consistently generous and fulfilling portions before. We had the scallops (massive, juicy, plentiful , the Crofter’s Platter, which was cheeses, hams, sausage rolls, salad, bread, chutneys; the soup massive bowl, loadsa crispy sourdough bread, and the fish and chips which was so big it draped over the plate! All delicious. Our guy, Andrew, was superb, so attentive and smiley and always bringing us more things, spoons, drinks, more bread, spoons, he was great. And we had a lovely chat with the very friendly and nice proprietor. She was wonderful. Really seemed to care about the place and her team. She told us all about the hotel and stuff it was really cool. We will most certainly come back here next time. You can’t necessarily get the best table every time, but we won’t mind if we don’t! : Oh, also, lovely clean loos!"

"We booked this restaurant after reading the reviews while touring Scotland what a disappointment. When we arrived we were shown to a table straight behind the door and as it kept opening and shutting it blew a massive amount of cold air in. As both parents and staff allowed 2 young children to go in and out every few minutes it got a bit much. We were given the menu and told specials were on the board. No description or recommendation. Also they did not say the board also goes over the top of the fish on didplay. I had crab claws to start the mayonnaise was lovely and what I could get out of the claws was nice but I was given no instruments to get into the claws and they were not broken enough for them to just pull out. I ordered the turbut for main as did my husband it was a small fillet with the skin correctly removed but it was loaded with garlic butter sauce you couldn't taste the fish for the garlic. Also which was worse I don't know what they did to the top of it but it was yellow and like thin rubber. We had to peel it off it was not good. I didn't complain at the time because I am not used to having a fillet of turbut. When I have had it before my husband and I have shared a turbut presented whole at the table. I have only written this today after speaking to some friends who said i should put something on because there had to be something wrong for the top of the fish to be yellow and leathery. You might guess but I won't be going back."
