Gertrudenhof am Neumarkt

This place is shamefully bad food bad, expensive, staff bad, very rude. There are many better typical German pubs in Cologne nearby that are two thirds the price and much better quality. Everything here seemed deep fried (yuck)!

I wanted to drink weisbeer(wheat beer) waiter said no,and than I asked to barman,he said that of course they have. but actually there wasn't weisbeeer They gave me Kolch beer .As e result They lie to sell just beer. İn addtion the prices are...very high. I never advise

Not exactly cheap, but worth the price! You can choose from three plate sizes and then fill your plate with as many things from the buffet as you can fit on it. I was there two times and some dishes stayed the same while some changed, all of them completely plant-based and delicious.

Like this place for a Kölsch out on the terrace or inside on the small table for at the bar. Service is really good and so is the atmosphere. Always worth a visit. Added value in winter (like for Xmas markets) when it starts...snowing and you can see the flakes fall from inside thru the stained glass window

The restaurant is right on one of the busiest markts in Koln and provides a great place to eat, drink and peoplewatch. The food is traditional German, very filling. I had a steak and it was delicious. I recommend eating outside to people-watch, or taking...in some soccer on the tele since they are huge supporters of the local team.

Popular meeting point after shopping. It’s interesting place to get some inside of the Cologne way of living. That is place were inhabitants like to meet late afternoon having a beer or two chat a bit and enjoy living. During summer there are...seats outside, it’s like a hop on hop off place. If you are in the area it is worth having a look.

The Gertrudenhof has been my regular pub in Cologne for many years, although I was not here daily. My job was in the immediate vicinity and even when I went from Cologne to Duisburg more than 20 years ago, here at the Gertrudenhof we met regularly, to Kölsch, to dinner and to Klaafen (Reden). Sion-Kölsch was well-known and popular. The food was very good without exception and we spent so many long evenings here. Gertrudenhof Am Neumarkt is a wonderful pub that on any holiday I take to Cologne I always look forward to visiting. I love the look of this pub, the interior is awesome, the main room is dominated by an island style serving bar, great decor...and furnishings including lots of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside looking out onto the beautiful Church. We went here for dinner on a Friday evening, ordered two Brauhausschnitzel a Kölsch and a red wine. I took just one sip of my wine and immediately noticed it had oxidised. It wasn't corked, just oxidised from exposure to air for too long....Happens quickly with an open bottle, especially in warm weather. I went to the bar and politely flagged the issue. Our extremely young waitress took a sniff but clearly wouldn't have known the difference. She then passed the wine to the barman. He didn't even smell the wine, didn't taste it, wouldn't even hear me out.
