Galvin Brasserie De Luxe

The other night, Mason R and I went out for a three-course dinner before he left for the United States for a period of time.

Lovely happy hours oysters and a nice glass of prosecco in a wonderful French atmosphere. A wonderful way to start your evening dining.

We had breakfast here every morning whilst staying at the Waldorf Astoria and it was great! Only downer was our last morning when we couldn't get a table Voir le carte

Ate dinner here last week pleasant, friendly, efficient staff (especially Deborah), delicious food and lovely wine. A very well run restaurant in the heart of Edinburgh to to be missed.

Beautiful ambiance and delicious food. The staff is very attentive. The starters menu may be a bit limited for those who don't enjoy fish. Overall, it's a great place to dine in the heart of Edinburgh.

We were part of a large group and were warmly welcomed on arrival by the staff and quickly seated. The four courses were all excellent and it was easy to find matching wines of good quality to compliment the tasty dishes The staff were attentive throughout the evening and assisted where information was sought. We were given an Itison voucher as a gift. Booked table and were told they couldn't see the booking. Reception staff were lovely and found us a table. Food was lovely, front line staff lovely but very much felt like a class citizen as we had a gift Voucher. There was a very distinct difference in service to paying customers particularly those with money. Very sad approach as actually somewhere I would have visited again and recommend

Beautiful food, lovely venue, great service from our waitress......until after our mains. I booked an offer on for I didn't realise the place closes' from All was fine until after our main dishes were cleared.........everyone disappeared. There was nobody except the maitre d'. I really fancied a coffee (which we were told was included) but nobody came over to ask if we wanted anything else. We waited minutes until we finally caught the eye of someone. At that point all I wanted was the bill. As we were of the last people there, we felt as if we shouldn't be there, and we were more of a hindrance. Ruined the lunch. Wouldn't go back, wouldn't recommend.

A friend had invited me to a nice dinner at Galvin Brasserie, but unfortunately, the experience did not meet our expectations. Despite its appearance as a high-end brasserie, it seemed to cater more towards families staying at the hotel than we had anticipated. The table next to us had a toddler watching loud cartoons on a phone, which disrupted the atmosphere and made it hard to have a conversation. Despite our request, the staff did not address the issue. They did not charge us for our drinks in the end, but we would have preferred a quiet meal and paid the full bill.
