"in the Galley hall this lunch. it was pleasantly busy, filled with many small tables, a sign of a popular pub, especially it was the week. I would not have thought that I would have to book, but it is probably advisable, especially at the weekend. of very friendly staff with whom we banished and who knew their menu clearly. were generous to say the least, but often when that is the case, eating lacks quality. not the case here! make it with an apparently award-winning cheesecake. I can only say that my opinion was justified after the day, and then we have the bill. and. hey presto. very reasonable! always a nice way to finish eating time! so all in a great choice for our lunch. probably the worst part was that the staff passed us with some fab-looking meal I had not ordered from their extensive menu. Oh, a reason to return!"

It was an 80th celebration, ,provided excellent area,with all amenities,such as private bar,catering,freindly staff. Wheelchair access, ,disabled toilet,many thanks to them all.

Had a lovely sunday roast here, great value, very good quality. All our meals were fantastic. Atmosphere was warm inviting with friendly staff. Fab fireplaces and a true old british pub. Wish I lived nearby!

Unscheduled visit about midday, today but worth it. Only being 2 of us , they found us a table, That will give you an idea of how popular the place is. Our meals were generous and filling, such that we never needed a dessert. You may notice from my pics there was still food on our plates, we did need a 'breather ' before we could finish them. The Galley Hall has an excellent terrace garden with views over the magnificent Hertfordshire Farmland. The owners have invested significantly in many facilities over the years, the interior of the pub is still old world charming, with a large regular menu meal costs were held in pre-vid levels many pubs are rising prices. The pub catches the sun in the late evening, so it is charming to relax on the terrace in magnificent warmth. Note, some photos of about 5pm, so the pub looks quiet. Since there is a free house, there is a wonderful selection of beer and cider on tap.

group of us went to the nye dinner, had an excellent experience. friendly, happy, attentive staff. the eating was amazing, I had filet steak I had always been afraid when it was cooked properly etc. I don't have to worry that it was perfect, eating was fabulous. we were well looked around, even tho we got a bit loud and changed our thoughts about dessert selection several times it is a nice place, and I would recommend it very much for anyone who wants to eat outside. on busy occasions, some businesses can't handle and it is reflected in the meal times, not the galley hall 100% and we are looking forward to our next visit, nowhere will go for my steak dinner now
