I went for a nice anniversary dinner as we are away a weekend away I went for the pizza , I’ve had frozen pizzas nicer from Poundland

Extremely poor. If I hadn't, been told I would never have guessed my dish was carbonara. My friend,s pizza was OK as was the anti pasta mixta. I won.t be back.

Enjoyed this cosy Restaurant after walking the wall with tired feet was ready for a good meal and that’s what we got , great pizza and meatballs and great atmosphere here , would recommend Voir le carte

What a lovely Italian Restaurant, staff very freindly, curtious, helpful and happy. Lunch was lovely very tasty and fresh, dessert fantastic. Thank you all for making our visit to Carlisle and husbands birthday lunch enjoyable

Positives: Authentic Italian music Good selection of foods Two young service staff were attentative polite Negatives: Food was average, even the cheese on the pizza wasn’t fully melted! Blonde curly haired waitress was miserable, making the experince uncomfortable Tables are very close together, almost sitting on top of each other Won’t be in a rush to go back sadly

Haven't visited Carlisle for a couple of years, but returned to Franco's as we've always had excellent lunches here previously. Yesterday's was dire! Young waitress simply didn't have a clue, older lady in charge looked disinterested and bored. The food (lasagne) was absolutely tasteless and terrible. Don't know if the place has changed hands but....... go anywhere, but do not go here!!!!! Voir le carte

Having avoided Franco's for several years as on a previous visit the waiter was rude, I was persuaded by friends to give it another try. Taking advantage of their ‘happy hour’ menu we found the food to our liking and the service prompt, attentive and friendly. I enjoy a real ale and was expecting the usual Italian restaurant offering of lager, but a pleasant surprise was in store when the waiter produced a bottle from the Ennerdale Brewery. Of course, real ale should be served cool but not cold; what a shame they served it from the fridge.

I have never been here before and after viewing all the bad reviews I was not looking forward to it as was coming to my friends birthday but apart from it being a bit out dated we all enjoy our self’s and there were 16 hungry people they were a bit short staffed but we didn’t mind at all the lovely lady I am not going to put the lady as I think that is a bit rude when writing a review and the lovely young lad did there very best to get everything out to us so thank you to them and the chef . If you are going to go in a place like that and expect 5 meal then go to a 5 place just don’t understand why some people are the way they are we all enjoy our food and didn’t feel that staff were rude an...

We love this restaurant and visit for lunch everytime we call into Carlisle. I read some of the reviews and was totally surprised at some of the negativity re food or service. We have been visiting this restaurant for many years and enjoy the authenticity and atmosphere within. We will again be visiting with family on Saturday 22nd June. Pollo Amitriciana is one of my usual choices for lunch. Served with a side of vegetables and small roasted potatoes and washed down with a glass of wine. We always order a garlic bread pizza with extra cheese and red onion. We like the restaurant and have always enjoyed the food. In the years of visiting, only once was an order incorrect.
