"Had pork with chanterelles a semi-sweet white wine. Frankly disappointing as it was a case of pork loin fried with gravy and the chanterelles with onion added almost as an afterthought. It didn’t help that the chanterelles were thin on the ground. Edible, certainly,...but could do better. On the plus side the rooms have been very well refurbished with all facilities including WiFi UK TV. Let’s hope the food returns to it’s former glory. The rooms merit 4 stars."

"Wir waren mit der ganzen Familie dort zum Essen. Schon bei der Aufnahme des Essens wurde klar, dass hier keine Profis arbeiten. Das zog sich so durch den Abend. "In the China Restaurant Jasmin you always feed full satisfaction. A secret tip is the buffet offered on Thursday and Saturday evening as well as on Sunday afternoon with almost all specialties and is refilled according to the motto All You Can Eat. "Probably the cheapest and most rich Thai restaurant in the Kaiserslautern area. Simple but complete menu of Thai essentials. I didn't find the sharp selections too hot. Everything was tasteful and big. We had the Thai roles, fried, but not too heavy; the red chicken cure, which was spicy and tasteful; roasted duck yellow curry and duck fried rice. One of the only places that still serves water through the glass for 1 euro. The total bill for all the food we took home most was 27 euros. Fast, friendly and clean restaurant. Enjoy Khao Lak!"

"I dined here alone on a Sunday night in March while in Kaiserslautern on business. This restaurant was close to my hotel and had good reviews. My overall experience was very pleasant, but a few things were unusual that I'll comment on. It was...dark when I arrived and the front door of the restaurant was lit with a motion detector, so it was dark until I stepped up toward the door. Then, when I opened the door to the restaurant same thing it was dark in the foyer until the motion detector turned on the light. I just found this unusual. I waited inside the door but no one came to seat me, so I eventually walked to the bar and a harried server told me it would be an hour. As there was no one else waiting, and there were several open tables, I was perplexed by this response. So I asked if it would be an hour before I could be seated or an hour before I was served, and she said the latter. So I said I'd wait and have a glass of wine. I was eventually served, and it was a longer wait than I'm used to, but the harried server was very nice helped me navigate the all-German menu and place my order I had a lovely mint soup, filet of sole expertly prepared, accompanied by fresh asparagus and potatoes with herbs. I had a local dry white wine, reasonably priced at Euro. I noticed that there were only two servers covering all the tables. I commented on this and she shared that the kitchen had just one chef and one helper. So they seemed understaffed for the number of diners. The chef came out and checked on all the tables toward the end of service, and we had a nice conversation as he spoke some English. All in all it was a lovely dining experience, and I would go back."
