"The weirdest fish soup I've ever seen. And the strangest fish soup I've ever tasted. The chef seems to think that this is how to get rid of waste products from the kitchen. Inedible and I sent it back. The waiter had disappeared (perhaps wisely)...after bringing the dish to the table, and was nowhere to be found. I had to ask other personnel (the Italian owner I assume) inside the restaurant where he was. In the courtyard smoking it turned out. When he finally deigned to settle the bill, minus the ghastly soup, his attitude was not exactly heart warming, more, er, off-putting and just short of offensive. He stank of nicotine from five paces. One huge rip-off. Never again."

excellent regional dining options, well prepared, great service, with special view to the alps and the sea.

the hall was a bit dirty and we felt that everything was not cleaned. from that, they should learn how to care customers, at least they should try to smile a little.

very good lunch with a breathtaking view we had the fish soup as an appetizer that contained seafood and the bisque was very good. as if we had the semi-roasted bavarian duck and carved and both tasted good. Voir le carte

I really like this restaurant. I've been twice over 5 years and find them to be consistently good. Its traditional Bavarian food and good value for the money. I found the service to be pleasant and cordial. I look forward to returning.

Nicola (the manager) is very friendly and welcoming. We had half a duck (enough for 2), and it was great! I really don't know how they achieve such tenderness and juiciness... it's amazing. Def a place to dine in if you happen to be nearby.

First off, the view is spectacular; what a pleasure it was to sit and eat while looking over that gorgeous view of the lakes a mountains. The food itself was also very good. It is very traditional Bavarian food, and it was all very tasty....The salad we got to start was especially nice. Voir le carte

the waiter saw us coming, but he pretended to see us. Finally we asked him if we could have dinner. well, he took us a beautiful sea view table, but he had never brought a menu, so...left that was for us absolutely the first restaurant in southern Germany and we were very disappointed about the German restaurant service.

The location is the only plus this place has to offer. It is right on the lake shore. We were here after walking around the lake for a coffee and an apfelstrudel. Service was inadequate, apparently guests having only coffee are not important enough. It...took 20 minutes and threatening to leave before we were allowed to pay our bill. Go elsewhere.

"We know Alatsee as a walking destination and decided this year to stay at the hotel by the lake as a centre for more walking and perhaps some nature. Booking was through Booking.com and straightforward. We decided on a minisuite for extra room and comfort...should the weather not cooperate. but it did so that was even nicer. The Suite consisted of a sitting room/lounge attached to a bedroom area and bathroom. All was very comfortable and agreeable. Sadly the room was at the back so there was neither much of a view and indeed no balcony for sitting out. I found that rather surprising and wonder if we had an inferior' room. But the place was pleasant enough, the welcome warm and the services all worked. It was nice to be able to take walks straight from the Hotel instead of driving anywhere and after the day visits had ended we had the lake area almost to ourselves. Breakfasts was the usual germanic buffet of cereals, cold meats and cheeses with juice and yoghurt. The service was excellent and indeed the staff actually prepared soft boiled eggs to order and timed to perfection which made a welcome change to the usual hard boiled offerings usually available. A real find for the british palette. What we found most odd was that despite being an excellent restaurant last orders for dinner was as early as 17.00. We are not habitual late diners but felt this was rather strange particularly as we were resident in the place. The place seemed to close up around 18.00 as staff left for home so I don't even know if the bar remained open later. As we had a mini apartment /suite we could of course have our own post prandial drinks in the evening but wonder how guests in smaller rooms fared."
