In Sardinia, it is hard to find authentic international cuisine. El Fogon is a Mexican themed restaurant with a great menu. They are only open in the evenings, so I think they prepare the food during the day because when you place your order, the food comes out 5 minutes later with everything you order. Everything is quite flavourful and has good options for vegetarians. It was a modern and refreshing change amidst an Island of traditional restaurants.

small and cozy, friendly staff and with worn mask, reasonable prices. we took onion rings, jalapeños peppers filled with cheese, chili with meat and beef fajitas with onion and peppers, accompanied by sauces, beer and sangria. all very greedy, very appreciated the filu ferru with chili and the shot with coffee and tea on the flame offered by the house. most dishes are not spicy, but it becomes on request. and it is the first tex-mex restaurant in which, asking for something spicy, we are really satisfied. for those who love the decisive flavors, absolutely to try the curse sauce of montezuma we asked again. Decided to try something other than pasta pizza, although they are delicious. This is An Italian bar with Mexican theme? Men standing drinking round the bar whilst customers eat opposite. Made us feel uncomfortable, while eating our meal. The speed the food came to the table, indicates -microwave!! Starters mains arrived together, which was rather strange as none of the dishes were sharing dishes. We ate our chilli starter with our burgers. The experience very strange. Food Nothing special, nothing fresh, think it’s best to stick to the beautiful prepared Italian restaurant. However the restaurant was busy its probably a change for the locals, as international cuisine are few far between.

really pleasant aesthetically local, the position raises the score so much. mediocre food, do not expect to eat something authentic. good nachos and chili, instead very poor grilled meat. quite abundant portions. in response to the owners: what I expected is a quality of meat (and cooking meat) at least a little higher than what you can get by throwing a piece of supermarket meat on a pot. When eating out, at least in this part of Italy, one often is surprised of the lack of other cuisine than Italian. El Fogon offers Mexican, in a simple way. And so it represents something refrshingly different. But it is also an odd experience. It's not very centrally located in Sassari, and also has a strange membership/socio thing. You have to sign in. No obligations. But they want your name. And no one there wants to tell why. Might be to get public money for being a political establishment? Also no credit card accepted. Cash only.
