"We have dined here on a number of occasions; the food and service have always been of a high standard, and we like the décor and ambience. Unfortunately it has not proved popular in Aldeburgh which means in the evening it is usually empty- we were of only on a Friday evening. There is a fireplace which is not used; apparently it smokes. However in the winter, with this cold snap we have had recently, a fire would have added to the ambience massively. As it was we kept our coats on initially. The mark -up on the wine is excessive- we chose an upmarket cote du rhone called Domaine Grand Veneur at it proved to be a very good choice but I can buy it retail for so almost a mark up is VERY excessive for a restaurant in this position. I hope they manage to break into the Aldeburgh restaurant scene which is dominated by Regatta and the Lighthouse; however an overpriced wine list does nothing to encourage me to return."

Restaurant pretty much to ourselves. The only other diners the whole evening finished their meal about after we arrived Great steak, wine and of course the company. Service with a smile.

This place is always a win. Had the smoked duck, orange and fig salad and it was utterly amazing. Lovely service with friendly staff. Will always come back and always tell family and friends to go here!

Excellent food, service and always very accommodating. Been here a number of times just for coffee, a drink, lunch and dinner. Beautiful roast rib of beef and roasties, excellent fish and lots of local Suffolk produce used. I had the best wild mushroom pasta dish outside of Italy. And they allow well behaved dogs! I think the term café might be misleading when you consider the high standard of food served and the service and décor. I would highly recommend a visit. Voir le carte

menu on open table implicates somewhat more adventurous than the ultimately quite safe steak and chips they receive. I went a month ago and had a delicious scallops starter and a fish bowl that did not the big standard fish and chips they were in the regular on sites like this on the suffolk coast, but this visit was disappointing. the menu was boring, my pork was over cooked, the lenses and squash dishes felt resolute to cook home in quality understood. the one eye opener was sprinkled, which were then grafted. they were delicious

A really lovely little bistro! Great food! The only thing was the waitress was very keen for us to leave promptly!!! Informing us if we did have dessert the Chef would have to stay late it was When she promptly handed us the bill (after our dessert), my husband commented on how it was quiet we were the only ones there at this point. She informed us that tables had not arrived which was fine by her' we were then left with our glass of wine alone and left without anyone even noticing!!! A shame because the food was good and its a nice place, but i really did feel like we were quite an inconvenience to them!
