"Can Jubany is about 100 km North of BCN and is Nandu Jubany 's vanguard kitchen in search of serious perfection of the farm to table concept. We found Can Jubany worthy of the trip from BCN as the cuisine was ingredient driven, not involving alien flavors just for weirdness sake as has become the gastronomic trend of some gastronomic kitchens. Can Jubany embraces the farm to table model and ensures the high quality of his raw materials by actually growing most them in the small garden and farm that is across the parking lot from the restaurant. These raw materials, fresh from his actual farm next door, are then refined to an extraordinary level while maintaining their recognizable flavor in his glass enclosed kitchen. During our tour of the small farm, asparagus, tomatoes, beets, peas, herbs and calçots were in season and the chicken and other fowl were providing both eggs and meat for the various dishes. Can Jubany might best be described as a down to earthy masia restaurant where locals gather together to enjoy excellent Catalan food on weekends together. There is also an outdoor patio were dinners gather post dinning to enjoy more libations and a cigar or two. For us, our food entertainment was lunch that took place over a 4 hour period and was titled A Stroll Around Catalunya and included: Pork 's tribute Jubany sausage, cracking cheek port, andpork belly foam in an edible rice cone Vegetable garden included red beet, blue cheese and prune Pumpkin gnocchi parmesan cheese serum and Iberian ham Puffed pastry with foie gras, caramelized figs and a little salad Codfish brandada cannelloni, onions and honey Sautéed ceps mushrooms with pork belly and egg yoke Sea cucumber rice with langoustines broth Hake cooked iat slow temperature with pickled vegetables Roasted young lamb with potatoes puree, vegetables and mushrooms Desserts included seasonal vegetables dessert; dessert of citrus fruits and textures; The wine pairings were also well selected/matched to complement the tastes of each course(s), and included: Carles Andreu Trepat Rose (D.O. Cava); Sameiras 1040 (D.O Ribeiro); Venus La Universal (D.O. Montsant); Rasim vi pansit blanc (D.O. Costers del Segre) ; and Mas Llunes Garnatxa Solera (D.O. Emporda). The Mas Llunes and Rasim were clearly some of the best wine we have ever tasted. Not surprising as the Mas Llunes was awarded the Great Golden VINAR 2013 of all 700+ competing wines from Catalonia. Our only observation regarding the sommelier was that they were very knowledgeable but were always asking 'what kind of wine would you like to have with the next course . So overall, as we have noted in another of our gastronomic adventures, Can Jubany is currently a Michelin 1* restaurant that in our exploration was producing Michelin 2* cuisine. Clearly you know when you have had a fantastic gastronomic experience when you can remember the highlights (many of them) months later. Now, if we could only figure out how to get from Barcelona to Can Jubany easily vs an expensive cab ride each way or stay in a hotel near by for the evening."

"Pizzes espectaculars al centre de vic. Local ampli amb moltes taules on s’aprofita l’espai i anb part de la cuina visible per veure com preparen les comandes. El postre de coulant i el entrant de ous trencats amb pernil molt bons. Aquest cop nomes erem dos i no ens va cabre res mes pero per compartir entre 4 son molt bona opcio per començar el dinar"

"Realmente son dos locales uno mas con mesas al exterior y el otro tipo venta de bodega y restaurante al lado Plaza mayor de Vic con mesas en el interior. El primero local al preguntar al camarero uf la, amabilidad justita. Todo lo contrario que donde comimos con un personal como la responsable y personal del comedor muy atentos y hay sus fantasticas tapas como las favetas con xipirones la xistorra al vermut la cecina con parmesano la Arengada escabeche y los seitons. Hay el vermut Muntaner mallorquin que me ofrecio la responsable. Me compre la ultima botella que tenia el local. Y si como me dijo el responsable que no es del oficio de toda la vida si lo hubiese sido que nivel hubiese alcanzado? Felicidades. Y la relacion calidad precio inmejorable. No me extraña que la Guia michelin lo recomiende. Esperemos que no se estropee por esto."

"Primero fueron muy amables y excepcionales con nuestro perro Mufaza. El servicio excelente, Manuel quien nos atendió, muy amigable y eficiente, muy buen camarero. El servicio excelente, el ambiente es muy llamativo con una distribución interesante. La música, para mi gusto estaba espectacular. La comida, los entrantes estaban muy buenos, pedimos póker de croquetas y las bravas. Ahora los fuertes no me gustaron tanto. Pedimos las costillas y el rabo de toro. Las costillas se ven muy bien pero le faltó algo, el puré de boniato no estaba bien equilibrado y las virutas de fresa deshidratada, me llamaron la atención pero el resultado no fue muy bueno. Ahora el rabo de toro fue donde me decepcione, no fue la pieza con hueso si no la carne procesada y los ceps (champiñones) estaban muy suaves, gomosos. En general no estaba nada mal y el precio estaba muy bien, solo me gustaría que mejorarán estos últimos dos platos. Felicitaciones al equipo en general. Fue una muy buena velada."

"The place is lovely, ancient but modern, small but confortable.. The food is just excellent.. is one of those OMG places.. tasting, different, original, best quality ingredients.. The desserts.... Ok.. dont order the Oreo tiramisu because you 'll get dissapointed, order the ravioli of ananas and coconut.. is. w o n d e r f u l ! About the service.. We were missing a couple of plates while we were eating the home entries.. we had no plate! And the other negative point was the delay time since we finished the last dish and they brought the desserts catalog.. but.. anyway.. the overall is that it has been a very nice experience ! About the price.. between 35 and 40 eur per person, not bad! : Congratulations to the cooker !!! The staff are very very friendly and I 'm sure the did their best and they will keep on improving ; I think I will come back......"
