"It would be unfair of us to provide a poor review, although our experience was an average one (at best . Bar del Castillo (Cuenca can be found at the top of the hill, walking past some nice views out to the right. The area and views is worth the walk up the hill. During our visit and the time we arrived (We did not book anywhere to eat , most places in the area we were staying were closed and we had a choice of two places to eat at the top of the hill and that were open at the time. We had to eat and therefore walked into Bar del Castillo. In summary we had between an average to below average experience. Service to customers needed improving and the food was very basic and not particularly tasty (We swapped foods as one of us could not eat what we had ordered! . That said, the establishment did seem to have a number of local residents in. The menu was limited. It is not a place we would recommend. However, as explained, if your in this area, you may be limited to what's open. If visiting, I hope you read this and can therefore manage your expectations. As the food was cheap, if there were several other places open, we would have paid without making a fuss and simply ate somewhere else."

Atención rápida, buen servicio. Los primeros un poco escasos, pero bien cocinados. Quedé muy bien.

Very rude staff. The waitress was really aggressive towards us . She charged 3 tables in total and refused to be paid each table separately. Never going again!

Menu en terraza 16,2€ con bastantes primeros y segundis a elegir y postre. Riquisimo el mojete y el brownie. La hamburguesa de ciervo estaba bien, pero mucho mejor el codillo.

Bueno, bonito y barato. Buena comida, buena atención y buena ubicación. Por poner un pero. Local pequeño y viejo pero muy bien llenado por su dueño y personal. Le sacan mucho partido y son muy currantes.

6 de septiembre de 2023, fuimos a ver el castillo y comer por allí, nos invitaron a comer en el castillo y accedimos, el mojeta riquísimo, estofado de ciervo también y el codillo muy tierno, servicio rápido y camareros muy amables y simpáticos. Comimos menú del día. recomendado.

We walked past this restaurant early evening and my partner was drawn to a risotto on the menu. upon questioning the waiter who said it was gluten free, we decided to try. When ordering and further questioning the waiter about the fact it was called a false rissotto, we were told it was actually small pasta shaped like rice! when i pointed out that pasta contains gluten, he went and checked and sure enough it was bread pasta. My partner decided she would still try it, but i could not, so i decided on the cod in tomate sauce. we then questioned the waiter as to how it was cooked and told it was fried on its own and the chips that accompanied were fried in a seperate fryer only for chips. when...
